Roblox app keep closing few seconds after opening

Since yesterday, my roblox app (website one) isn’t functioning as it should.

Each time I try to open it, from the website or from the desktop, it opens briefly and then few seconds after it closes without any crash messages. It sometimes try to open once again but it closes as soon as I click on the app’s window, or by itself.

Does anybody have an idea of what the problem might be ?
I’ve already tried to delete roblox and download it back several times.

If it can help, here is the recap of the roblox app’s log:

  • HTTP 404 Errors:
    • A request to https://locale.roblox.com/ returned a 404 Not Found error (≈123.8ms).
    • Two requests to https://users.roblox.com/ returned 404 Not Found errors (≈123.8ms each).
    • Four requests to https://apis.roblox.com/ returned 404 Not Found errors (≈302–303ms each).
  • Asset Loading Errors:
    • Failed to load the image asset rbxthumb://type=AvatarHeadShot&id=&w=48&h=48&filters=circular in TextureManager::PreloadTexture: Request failed.
    • Failed to load the image asset rbxthumb://type=AvatarHeadShot&id=0&w=48&h=48&filters=circular in TextureManager::PreloadTexture: Request failed.
  • SQLite Error:
    • Error [DFLog::SQLite]: Code 283 – Recovered 150 frames from the WAL file located at
      C:\Users\*****\AppData\Local\Temp\Roblox\rbx-storage.db-wal.
  • Critical Storage Error:
    • Critical [DFLog::RbxStorage]: RbxStorage::init [DONE] for TelemetryCache (SqliteCache+TelemetryCache(FileCache)) completed in 124.377ms after 27 database opens, indicating a potential issue with storage initialization.

I’ve been having the same issue for about 2 weeks now. Saw a different post on it and they said theirs was fixed when Roblox updated, but it remains for me. Also trying to rejoin says Roblox was launched on a different device

Yeah that’s a ghost instance where your client doesn’t launch or isn’t open but you are still connected to the server. It drives me crazy when that happens.

Hi,

I noticed in the video clips above, there seems to be some non-standard UI elements (such as a play button on the bottom-right corner of game tiles when hovered).

Are you using any browser extensions? (if yes, what are they?)
Have you tried disabling them and see whether there is any difference?

NVIDIA just released a fix for their drivers. Please update to version 572.42 to fix roblox. LMK if this fixes roblox for you as well. It fixed roblox for me.

I don’t think it’s the driver, I updated mine too but I still encounter the problem.

Yes, I tried disabling the extensions too. Launching a game from the website or the app gives the same result.
Sometimes I can play for as far as 1 minute without the app closing, but most of the time its a few seconds.
Tell me if you need any more details

Yeah I still get the issues sometimes it actually made by pc BSOD again yesterday. The symptoms did improve but roblox updated again so we’ll see.

Try restarting the task from the task manager. I don’t have the problem so I can’t test it but I would do that first If I had it. If you still have the problem you could try it anyway.
