This feature is great, but will there be a way to change where the player’s voice comes from? In our game Super Golf ([🛸NEW MAP🛸] Super Golf! - Roblox), there are no humanoid players, instead everyone controls a golf ball. It would be great if players were still able to voice chat with each other and the audio came from their golf ball.
These new social features will increase the quality of communication. Hope I get invited.
Can you still hear and talk to people at a normal level when it occurs though, could potentially just be the UI glitching out?
The spatial voice feature souds interesting, hope I can get invited soon
yes!
There seems to be an issue when joining friends into this experience, I tried to join a couple of my friends a couple of days ago to check out the voice chat but, whenever I join my friends into a server, I am able to see and interact with them for a few seconds before freezing and getting teleported into a new server. This only happens with a few friends though.
If you have issues with joining friends, try joining another friend who is in the same experience, I found out that I could join another of my friends who was in the same server c:
This facture will get added to beta program?
Seems really interesting, I’d love to try and experiment using it!
Hey, as someone who got invited, I am super grateful for the opportunity given to me to test this out, I have noticed one thing and that is that the microphone still picks up all types of audio when tabbed out or unfocused from Roblox, while some may find this normal there are some issues I’ve found with this and noticed other developers have too.
For example, If I am in a VC with somebody else on a program such as discord, and tab out of Roblox, I’d expect the Roblox VC to not pick up what I’m saying or playing in the background, however I’ve noticed this isn’t the case, which has led to me and other developers accidentally letting the background audio or whatever we say get picked up.
This can lead to issues such as profanity or copyrighted audio, etc. being played on our sides.
Whatever chooses users as beta testers is quite broken. Considering people who aren’t devs at all get in
No shade to Roblox but this has to be fixed
i see this argument brought up all the time, Discord is good for playing with people you already know, the reason direct voice chat exists on games is so you can communicate with other players on the game without having to add them on discord or any other third party app. No ones gonna add every single player just to communicate on the game.
This is going to be a really good update let’s just pray and hope that Roblox voice chat moderation is a lot better than normal Roblox moderation. either way I hope I get invited next time
This is so nice, I can’t wait till this gets released it’s gonna change Roblox forever !!
Most voice chat moderation systems like ps4 have active mods constantly reviewing the vc’s, they wont censor the word live but instead suspend the account for a week. After all, they cant review it live, instead they review it after its finished, kinda like pre-recorded.
Seeing how roblox will add moderation or leave it be will be interesting.
If they do add moderation, i would really like to see how it works.
A really amazing feature and I’ve loved every part about it so far. Communicating and getting to know new people gets way easier and more fun. As expected there are some flaws with people who are using it for inappropriate things but other than that I really like it.
these features are from the place created for roblox testing, not for all games
Yes, as I’ve said before, it’s purely a graphical issue, it doesn’t affect voice communication in any way between myself and others.
Although I’ve come to the conclusion that that particular issue is pretty much normal, and as a result, my report is obsolete (especially the first part of my post, that’s straight up my own fault). The effect where the microphone icon turning green at a rapid and frantic rate when any sound is being made is happening for those who can see the icon and use the voice chat, as far as I can tell after watching YouTube videos of Roblox players using the feature. Although I’m certain it’s not intentional behavior, that seems to be how it normally works at the moment, and I’m sure it’ll change later.
Ah I see, I don’t have access yet myself to try it out but I imagine they’ll have a fix for it soon. Still a rather annoying issue.
As in Coming Months, will they invite developers once every month?
Sorta like in invite waves.
Or will they gradually invite a few every day or week?
In my opinion it would be nice if they were to release some sort of criteria for whether or not a user is eligible. I only have roughly 10,000 place visits and making Roblox games is more of a side hobby of mine, but I’m confused as to how you become able to join the program besides being a Roblox developer.
Very nice and interesting feature! I look forward to using it soon.
