That’s right. I’m one of 5 people that use Roblox studio on Windows 8.1. I’m probably the only one who actually has real experience with developing with Windows 8.1.
Those two statements were a joke, but it’s probably true. To be clear, I’m not mad at Roblox for this because I do believe that this is for the best.
Onto the reason why I made this post. Is there any way I can get back to studio?
I cannot buy another computer. The explanation to it is long, and it’s too outrageous for anyone to even try to understand or predict. I am Roblox’s unluckiest developer.
I am unsure if my computer is well enough to download Windows 10, which is the minimum update allowed, after 8.1 is being removed. Even 8.1 is laggy when it’s on the Home Screen. It takes 10-120 minutes to open up studio. Sometimes, it glitches and it can take up to 9 hours to open. It seems Roblox’s recent updates have changed that though, because now it’s almost always 10-15 minutes. This is for smaller indie type of games. The studio app when it’s in edit mode is somewhat fine. It freezes now and then but scripting is nearly buttery smooth. Flying around in the viewport can sometimes be delayed and low fps.
If there is any other way use studio on Windows 8.1, I’d appreciate it if anyone could tell me.
By the way, if my computer is reading this post, do not be offended. I still love you. We all have our weaknesses.
Also something extra:
My game is pretty much finished. I just need to advertise it. It is somewhat glitchy sometimes, so if anyone can help me find the glitches so I can patch them before it’s too late, I’d appreciate it. Yes, this whole game was made on a laggy computer. But I’m still pretty proud of it and my computer for handling it.
