same with me, my launcher just disappear after 5 seconds, i check Task Manager but Roblox Client is just gone and disappear…
I am having the same problem. I uninstalled Roblox twice, checked my firewall settings, restarted my PC multiple times, and I still cannot get into a game…
Edit: I am using Windows 10 Home 22H2. This new Roblox update made it impossible for me to join a game. Before, Roblox would load instantly just fine, but now, nothing happens.
I have some information regarding my side of this issue.
I remembered a quick tip when the VR bug was happening around late december and decided to perform these steps:
- Find your local appdata folder (Windows+R, Type in %localappdata%)
- Find the “openvr” folder and either delete it, move it to a separate folder, or rename it
I was able to get into any PUBLIC ROBLOX experience. There’s still an issue with joining private servers or joining through the Servers tab, as well as the obvious VR bug that has somehow come back.
wait my Roblox Launcher is updating again…
YAYYY ROBLOX FIXED IT, GUYS UPDATE YOUR ROBLOX LAUNCHER RIGHT now
Roblox reverted the byfron update lol, that’s why it works rn
Now it just boots into a black screen that goes nowhere, not really much better for me here
Edit: Game audio apparently works so I’m actually loading into experiences now, but the screen stays black so it’s still entirely unplayable
Some people are saying this is fixed but I’m still completely unable to open studio - it just opens the splash screen and then freezes forever. I’m also unable to join servers / play normally.
its still broken for me too, studio gets to the loading point then just crashes and my normal roblox player just launches and then does nothing and hogs up memory in the backround
edit: i dont think we can do anything to fix it for right now, its only for some people and will probably be fixed soon
Ok everyone. I have just found a temporary solution for this issue (at least for people like me). All you have to do is uninstall the oculus software on your computer via the ‘Add or remove programs’ feature on windows (just look it up in the search bar). Also, I think uninstalling Steam VR may also be required, but I am not sure, as I have never used Steam VR. Anyways, this completely fixed my issue, and Studio is now launching normally.
So RobloxPlayerBeta.exe got updated for me today, and it’s working now. I can join experiences normally.
This is also happening to me and is currently preventing me from working.
Really hope this gets fixed soon.
this actually fixed it for me, i tried everything, thanks !
i dont have steam vr on my pc and ive waited a day and it still doesnt work, roblox needs to fix this
Mine on my Windows 10 laptop has been doing this since the beginning of May
I am on a fresh install of Windows 10, and cannot launch games.
The launcher launches as expected, but then (presumably) never launches the player?
This affects any game I try to join - not just place teleports like in the original post.
I don’t have Steam VR nor the Oculus app installed.
Edit: here is the only log generated by the player - might be relevant?

Final edit (6/16): For people with the issue where the game simply just doesn’t launch, a fix is to just re-install Windows (for me, at least) - it will be a hassle, but if you have a backup drive (or a secondary internal drive) - you can backup your files and re-install Windows + your apps.
It’s annoying that this seems to be the only fix, but I am not sure what else to do since there’s very little to no output generated in logs, and issues involving the launcher tend to not be fixed (launching games/Studio on macOS using Firefox, for example, has been broken entirely for 3+ years now). So if you really want to play, you’re going to have to be willing to troubleshoot - and this is what it took me.
This issue has resurfaced on my end today, the splash screen is once again present on-screen longer than normal. And once it disappears one, two, or all three of these behaviors is observed:
- Window does not open (is stuck in the background)
- Takes an absurd five or so minutes to even spawn a window (in which the window is blank)
- Returns authorization error 403 following the last behavior. (happens when attempting to launch the game client more than once within the five or so minutes after attempting the first time)
In the meantime, it is left hanging in the background using ~11% of my CPU unless killed in task manager. A clean reinstallation of the client still does not resolve this issue at this point.
One good thing is that joining private and/or other servers (not via the play button) no longer crashes this time.
The issue has resurfaced yet again for me. It seems to me this byfron shit has only made things worse.
Yes, it is happening again, we can only wait roblox to fix it or use the Microsoft Roblox
Jeez, let things marinate and become solidified. In the future, we will all be happy to have Byfron, at least I hope so.
