Service Announcement - Conference Center

Opening and closing the Conference Center is tiring, so I’m leaving it up for good unless there’s some reason why we need to keep it closed (for example, maintenance). You can also grab a VIP server for free on it, so we’re offering it as a sort of service for you all if you want to use it for your own purposes.

At the moment there is no support for non-standard uses, so the benefit of VIP servers is only useful for Level 4s and department command teams for hosting conferences at around the same time slot without interfering with another session or having to wait to host a meeting. I am looking into private server integrations (controls, permission bypasses and so on) to further give it use for our staff and even outside ones!

Another thing why I’m leaving it up: it’s nice to move around and use a game to talk once in a while. Yeah, text filtering exists, but once in a while it’s nice to change things up from talking in a Discord channel to meeting in game. At least that’s what I think, and why we have meeting places to begin with. For example, think about how different our celebrations would be if we just spammed a text channel instead of using a meeting game.

Issues on the hall have not been fixed yet, I know there are some that exist such as guns not being properly removed from anyone who’s not Alpha-1 or IA. I don’t know when I’ll fix them, but eventually I will.

July 7th, 2020 Update

Additions

  • Holding Q with cuffs and clicking on a player now forces them to jump, restrained or not.

  • Shotguns now play shell insert sounds instead of using a rifle reload sound.

  • Knife now has a stabbing sound.

  • You can now press space at any time during the loading screen to speed up the process.

Improvements & Changes

  • Alpha-1 changed from zipties to handcuffs.

  • SRU may now handcuff Foundation Personnel under Level 2.

  • IA may no longer cuff Class A personnel (O5 Council members and Site Directors).

  • Dead players can no longer be restrained. This does not mean that you’ll be uncuffed if you or your restrainer dies. Still don’t have a fix for that.

  • Zipties now have a 0.5 second cooldown to prevent double clicking.

  • Gun reload sound changed.

  • Fire cycle can no longer be changed while the gun is being shot.

  • D Class, E Class and Hostiles are now mutually allied for team killing.

  • M1911 round changed to .45 ACP.

  • Shields can (should be able to) now block taser projectiles.

  • Granted visitors access to the MD Bay (not the Ward) and the breach shelter.

  • MD Bay bulkhead no longer blocks reception terminals.

  • MD Bay bulkhead now only accesible by Nurses and above.

  • All task forces may now initiate lockdowns on all containment zones.

  • Chat messages no longer deliver while dead.

Fixes

  • Internal change to prevent server crashes when using SCP-1162.

Removals

  • Combative requirement to access SCP-1162 door removed.

  • Suppressors no longer come attached with guns taken from SCP-1162.

  • Broken follow-jump function removed from cuffs.

  • Removed Ballistic Shields from Standard Insurgents.

  • Fixed the permissions error which resulted in everyone being able to toggle the fuse boxes.

  • Pipe gas leaks now give a poison effect. E&TS have been provided with special respirators to survive the toxic vapour. Does not protect against lethal gas.

August 11th, 2020 Update

Additions

  • E&TS Drill Tool.

  • Air Vent breakages.

  • B-7 no longer take damage from gas leaks.

  • E&TS respirators no longer make them immune to the lethal gas protocol.

  • During a reactor failure blackout, emergency lights will be activated. These are dim and red to give the facility some light. Blackout protocol remains unchanged.

  • Reduced time between E&TS repair events.

  • Reduced range of wrench by 5 studs.

  • Slight decrease in LG leak damage.

August 29th, 2020 Update

This comes with bug fixes from our suggestions platform.

  • 4064 (changed SCP-1162 loot distribution and combative counting method + optimisation upgrades)

  • 4100 (SCP-002 elevator floors were missing permission configurations)

  • 4126 (someone apparently deleted the fire extinguisher tool, causing this not to work)

  • 4133 (no indications of being broken)

  • 4167 (SCP-999 resetting disabled for the time being, waiting for some backend upgrades before revisiting)

  • 4197 (library sign moved forward slightly to prevent Z-fighting)

  • 4214 (additional SCP-034 handler, SCP-310 anticheat less harsh and kills over kicking)

  • 4337 (radio channel keybind: can use either comma or J now)

  • 4387 (can no longer chat while dead)

Additions

  • Completely replaced MD floors with a single textured part instead of hundred-part tile floors.

All updates beyond this point will be dropping semantic version.

We have been severely inconsistent in how we have been labelling our versions and there has been violation of semver principles, even in our loose following of it, everywhere. It is with this that it will be dropped.

Versions will now be labelled by the date in which they are published on. Any updates made during that day will also be logged into the post - this extends to major and minor updates as well as patches.

Previous updates made will not have their labels changed to reflect the update.

[2020-09-20]

Improvements & Changes

  • Restored the 2020-08-30 update. Some updates are missing.

  • Respawn timer reduced to 20 seconds.

  • IA is now the only group able to use the fully black (BrickColor “Really Black”) skin colour for their uniforms. Complete access users (Level 6) can no longer use this in the Skin Tone option.

Removals

  • Removed all vehicles and anything associated with them including terminal commands, code and models. Vehicles are now completely cut from the game.

  • Exhaust vents no longer emit particles in an attempt reduce lag.

  • Class D vendor removed.

Cut Updates

  • Side TSTA windows can no longer be broken. It was an interesting but useless pilot project.

  • Shift lock is disabled again. Roblox has become unpredictable with their PlayerModule updates and shift lock has caused some camera system conflictions.

  • Spawn rooms no longer have thematic labels. They now retain the name of the department that can spawn there (e.g. “Armoury” is back to “Security Dpt.”).

  • SCP-606 no longer resets back to its chamber when it goes near the spawn box. Trying to figure out a comfortable way to fix the exploiting of this SCP as well as of noclipping in general.

  • Several untracked Nolt bug fixes are now left unfixed. QA team will be reconvened with in order to file bug reports directly. A large list of game issues has already been compiled.

Additions

  • New rifle: AK-103. It is available to Special Insurgents and Cardinals.

Improvements & Changes

  • Slight changes in the MK11, exchanging damage for firing speed.

  • FAMAS given to Alpha-1 as a primary tool. Replaces the MP5SD.

  • AK-12 given back to Hostiles as a primary tool. Replaces the MP5.

  • Permission tweaks to Hostile radio channel. Messages (should) send now.

Removals

  • Removed special loadout slot. All special tools transferred to primary tool slot.

Additions

  • Users with a name following the IA format (AGENCY_XXXX) without being in IA will now be automatically kicked.

Removals

  • Removed server room hacking. It’s broken, doesn’t serve a purpose and is too difficult a raid objective to be useful. I will consider other types of fun minigames, possibly bringing back hacking in a different way, in the future.

  • Patch notes removed from the main menu, they aren’t used anymore and have not been updated as often as this thread or other means of communicating updates. The next TSiD should create their own patch notes thread or discuss with the O5 Council about receiving a separate channel for posting updates that this time is not hijacked for administrative notices.

  • Removed unused train class. Rail locomotives noted as potential V4 content.

  • Removed unused weapons locker class. This was meant to allow combatives a way to change their gear without exiting to the menu. Will think about revisiting weapons lockers in the future.

  • Removed unused debug script (ironically was capable of causing lag despite being in the Lag Helpers scripts group).

  • Removed unreleased vials V2 code. Vials will be recoded again in the future using Promises (which will guarantee, this time, that they will work properly).

  • Removed radio write access for Level 0s as proposed to and approved by the O5 Council.
