You’ve been asking for more insight into how players feel about your experiences and the thumbs up / down ratings today don’t always give you the full story. We’re excited to share that we are testing a new feature which will gather detailed feedback from players who rate your experience!
During the experiment, players who leave a rating will also be asked to share a reason for their rating along with an optional comment.
Our goal is to collect actionable and insightful comments from players so you can better understand what players like or dislike about your experience. The qualitative feedback players leave can be combined with other data sources, like analytics, to help you identify opportunities to improve the player experience.
Note that this test is only for the player side of the feature; we will make a dashboard for viewing responses after we finish testing. During the test periods, we'll closely monitor how players use the feedback prompt and the quality of responses they leave – if all goes well, we're aiming to launch a new feedback dashboard early next year based on learnings from this experiment.
We are really excited to see how the experiment goes and can’t wait to give you more tools to help you understand player sentiment! We’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions for this and any future tooling in the replies. Your feedback on this feature exponentially impacts how we further invest in and develop tools like this.
This feature looks great! It’s almost similar to Steam, The only thing I suggest is that I hope the review system is only available for 13+ users for safety.
Will developers be able to get these reviews on their dashboard?
This is really nice, but my only question is are there going to be attempts to avoid this from being spammed and used incorrectly like how comments were?
I’d love to see Roblox do something about all the games that promise rewards to players who like the game and join their group - bribing for likes (even if the game can’t actually check that) kind of defeats the purpose of having game ratings in a lot of cases
If this does end up becoming a feature is there any plans to let developers add their own questions? The other certain is good but sometimes I am looking for feedback on specific features and you don’t receive it unless you specifically ask.
Definitely want this feedback feature, player feedback can be very valuable.
Thanks for the feedback! Yes, we plan to include some additional metadata like device and platform so you can narrow down if there’s a specific segment of your player base experiencing a particular issues
I’d have to disagree here. The game ratings should be used and treated as a way to rate the game by user opinion. If the user has to like the game to get a reward, then that’s just abusing the rating system entirely
Yes, we are running it as a sort of split test where some players will not see a feedback prompt when they rate. I can’t share specifics on the timing for the experiment windows
