This should be implemented once DET finally comes out with their plan to promote members to regulars. Otherwise, many good-intentioned topics will never be made.

It’s already possible to DM them, and I don’t understand what you mean by “many” good-intentioned topics, there are only few of those (like very few to justify not closing it down) within the past 4 months+ sadly.
Close #development-discussion? Thats is not a good idea, first, if anyone needs to make a post related to #development-discussion, they can’t, and second, people can just spam in other topics
Right, but other topics are more limited with clearly defined bounds and it’s easier to justify removal of a post there
Development Discussion is a very broad category where basically anyone who can’t decide on a category puts their post. Locking it to Regulars will ensure that most of the time the category is used for its intended purpose

I dont think that it is fair to make the category only open to regulars, since there is no way to level up in the forum, some people have actually good questions to put on #development-discussion

You can still message DevRel about the issue or create a support ticket. You just can’t post publicly for other players to see. I’m still a member (after 3.5 years lol) and have gotten all my bug reports across with ease.
And wait 28 days for them to reply?

Yes. I imagine they have a lot on their plate. Yes, bug reports on the DevForum may get seen quicker, but yours will be seen eventually. If it’s really that pressing, you can also ask a friend who is a regular to post it (this is not against the rules as long as they are not monetizing their privilege)

This would be very stressful on staff, and probably not the best idea…
But my suggestion would be for users who have not had the “Member” rank for a certain number of days (or users who aren’t a Regular+) to have their Development Discussion go through moderation process before going public. Everyone would still be able to post in the topic, however, if you don’t meet the proper requirements you would have to go through a check.
It could prevent a lot of spam, however, it would be stressful.
I realized that the solution had become outdated after new solutions had come up (e.g. Platform usage support, reverting the description back to “the art of making things” and adding more specifications on what is a good DD post) and the decrease of lounge like posts that had came up.
Have you seen the current topics in Developer Discussion? Too many members posting topics there that usually get flagged for the right reason.
I believe DD deserves to be closed for a bit to sort out the clutter.
I just think there have been too many posts that aren’t development discussion, not really spam, I think OP’s should be able to delete replies under their post as a way to fix that.
That would be heavily abused, either just for the sake of it, or to silence opposing opinions.

I believe there are many such topics. And yes, this one is also considered as spam. Getting on forum is easy now, especially if people cracked way to get in. But however, I think application aren’t best way to get in. There must be done something with #development-discussion mainly.
Bruh I just had an idea! There is nothing wrong with posting a idea! Also it isn’t spam because there is only one of that post. I was going to model the hat but I wasn’t on my pc at the time! Its very hurtful for targeting people and reported there post just because they have an idea. I was mad when my thing got taken down because I took the time to though about that idea and right it down!
I am not telling you to have ideas. I also didn’t target people just like that. I did my best in keeping the forum clean so it’s easy for people to search something. What you were talking about is NOT related to #development-discussion and was more related to #lounge:roblox-discussion.
Then how come this 2021 Visor ideas whitch is mine! Witch never got taken down. It is similar to the birthday item idea but that one got taken down. I tried to even set it up like that to so it wouldn’t be spam and not be taken down.
