The game is not becoming popular. Or not? What's happening?

:chart_with_downwards_trend: Another failed game or how to do everything and get nothing :chart_with_downwards_trend:

:clock5: Before this game, I was working on the previous project, which was in development for 3 years, but it was a total failure.

:chart_with_upwards_trend: After that, I decided to create a new, more planned game - a full-fledged economic simulator, where the player needs to produce his own game consoles, buy studios, and manage a company. All the mistakes of the previous project were taken into account and the game turned out to be really interesting and thoughtful! Almost all the reviews were very positive, there were even those who said that the game set the standard for tycoons in Roblox, but online in the game it remains in the region of 1-2 people, occasionally rising to 6.

:gift: The game has several modes, but the focus is on a single one - a large campaign from 1976 to 2023, during which different consoles from competitors are released, new technologies are released, new events appear, connected or not related to the real story, and other little things.

:globe_with_meridians: Multiplayer has the Versus mode (Where 2 players compete with each other in randomly selected modes) and regular multiplayer (Game for up to 6 people with the ability to choose a mode)

:bar_chart: The statistics were already better (than the previous project), but not that much - 4000 visits over the summer, and now the game has 32K visits, because unexpectedly, one YouTuber made a video on the game with 15K views. But this hasn’t progressed anywhere further and it is completely unclear what to do about it.

 So what’s the problem? Why don’t a whole bunch of connected mechanics between each other, modes, and even a big update help? Or does it all depend on luck and it doesn’t matter how well and thoughtfully the game is made?

:selfie: Everything was tried - user ads, sponsored, social media, but there is not even a minimum constant online of 10-15 people.

 Release a new huge update? It eats a lot of time and experience has shown that (as expected) people simply ignored it. There wasn’t any changes in stats.
 Paid advertising like Sponsored again? One 15K YouTube video made more effect than 10K Robux.

:grey_question: What would you do in such a situation? It’s possible that you’ve had similar problems. I think that those who have the same problems will be able to better find a solution for themselves.

Thanks to all! :raised_hand:

I’d say the game is well-made.
But I wouldn’t play it.
In my opinion there’s too much reading, and probably about as much to learn. Click and watch games definitely exist, and I’m sure some of them are successful, but not this one.
I think your game also has too much information to focus on for too little a reward. Development, advertising, testing, some other stuff I skimmed over or didn’t reach before bankruptcy. The gameplay isn’t fun, for me at least.

I’m not sure how to fix this game specifically, other than trying to find the target audience that enjoys these types of games.
Otherwise I’d say you need a game redesign, in my opinion something more door-to-door.

It turns out that the game itself is not very suitable for Roblox?

I agree. I felt like I clicked through a ton of buttons, mulitple loading screens, and what felt like painfully slow messages popping up and waiting for it finish typing before anything happened. Alot of GUI that took some time to figure out and wasn’t really clear at times what it was for. Then waiting for my console to even get made felt like it took forever. Since roblox is mainly a younger audience, most wont sit that long and read/try and figure out all this information before leaving for a different game. I’d suggest trying to condense the amount of options and time between them, and reduce the amount of time it takes to start seeing numbers go up. The faster people have a console launched and start seeing sales, money increase, the more likely they wont leave in my opinion. Also some more graphics, colorful icons, could help the GUI not look as boring.

You can skip the text if you double-click on it - it’s written everywhere above the text frames themselves. The speed can also be changed to the maximum, at the beginning of the game it is shown where it can be changed (The game needs to be unpaused and the arrows show the player where the buttons are)
I agree that it takes a long time to make the console, but that’s if it’s done well. There are two choices - either cheap and fast or long and expensive.

The game is well made. But its just over done?
Theres just too much reading and different places to go that make your brain just shut down. There’s a reason why simple games like zeppelin wars, lumber tycoon, or newer ones like arsenal or strongest battlegrounds are on top. You can just hop in and explore the game without getting blasted with too much information. Keep the game simple but rich in content. Dont give the player 100 weapons to choose at beginning give him 3 and then make him slowly obtain more choices as he learns how to play. Dont show him 30 different turorial screene instead show him how to do 2 basic things and then let him learn by experience.

Thanks! Perhaps I should just make a separate simplified mode where there will be only the most basic mechanics, the game will go faster than the normal mode and there will not be many events, but a beginner can easily get used to the game.
