Only if you didn’t set the AutoLocalize property to false.
You are misunderstanding how it works. It is not some AI that can change the text on images. Only text containers, like TextLabel or TextButton.

I was thinking and confused on why almost all these experiences have the thai language translated when there were no translators working on it and now i know. I would say it is a big start and can help some people understand stuff in the experiences more. However, from what i’ve seen so far, it can translate some stuff easily if it’s one word or so rather than sentences or “big” words. Not to mention context cause some experiences it’s sound volume or in-experience volume but it translates as ‘amount’. I do understand that sentences can not always be translated correctly, especially by a machine but it can be written a little better.
I don’t disagree with the update, i think it’s good but there’s a lot that needs to be translated or fixed and i’m looking forward to see how this will go. I am also interested into being in the Roblox Translator community since i do translate experiences and have done so for over a year now and would be more than happy to help correct and make the translations better.
To be honest, instead of adding auto translations, Roblox should consider supporting more languages (Like Arabic, for example).
but how accurate are the bots going to be?
Not accurate, you’d be suprised what the translation are in very old forum post.
I don’t understand why it doesn’t appear
Check if your game qualifies for the requirement quoted above. If not then that should explains why Auto Translation isn’t available for your game.
Wow, I guess Brazil doesn’t only have cheap animal feed but also some decent roblox creators and devs.
Not that accurate, translation machines do not know the context but this update is going to help manual translations in the future.
Im not sure if this is completely related to this update, but Im having a problem regarding translation recently: No translation entries being made
Ive cleared the entries AFTER this update, so I dont know if this was caused by it. Has the automatic text capture changed at all? I cant seem to get it to work again
Robots or even machines will never take our places as translators, because manual translators are still better at translating things. I think a translator community would be great!
People were already complaining about their games being poorly translated by roblox in Thai… Long story shirt, the translation algorithm is terrible.
I’ve responded to the thread for more details. We will look into what’s going on!
Hi there! There is another team (the Localization) team that works on supporting more languages on Roblox. We are definitely doing our best to support other languages!
The Translation team mainly focuses on the translation products (e.g. the translator portal, auto text capture, auto translation, etc). Hope that helps!
Hi there! We don’t currently translate chat messages, but we would like to build this into a public, developer-usable translation API in the future!
Regarding metrics, I’ll see what I can share (we may not be able to share this publicly), but we did measure all the different MT options regarding quality. We would not have replaced the other translation solution we were using unless we were confident in Roblox Translate. One caveat is that Roblox Translate performs really well for Roblox content (e.g. experience strings). We’re not saying that Roblox Translate is more accurate in other areas! Hope this helps.
Hi there! You can opt out of auto translation at any time! The beta has already been completed (as of March).
Hi there! Can you submit a bug report in the Bug Report subforum? We can get details there and figure out what you mean.
As I see from auto translation is doing some inaccurate translations. Looks like a few strings have been translated meanwhile most of them haven’t. But it’s still in beta and I appericate what you guys are doing. Hopefully this gets improved in the future.
Also I’d really love to see more about your Roblox Translator community.
I’d like to highlight this point for anyone who missed it buried in reply text.
Yes there are a lot of very good machine learning based translation options out there… however the automatic translation problem on Roblox is pretty unique: For example, Roblox translation has to translate a ton of tiny or literally single-word fragments from people’s UIs. That’s not the kind of problem that most automatic translation systems are tuned for, even though the correct translations of a lot of single words may be “obvious” given the specific context of being from a Roblox game’s UI.
That’s why Roblox can do better building its own solution, because of the additional context.
Interesting to know. One question I do have about this - how do you handle translating words that don’t have a translation in the target language? I’ve seen some worse than bad methods of going about that stuff and I am very interested in knowing how your tools handle this.
