Today we are happy to share four new languages available in Studio. To select any of these new options, open Roblox Studio, go to File > Studio Settings and search for the Language setting. You should see the new options available to you.
Now you can build, code, test and even use our AI-powered natural language Assistant in your preferred language to create and insert scripts, explain code, and generate new materials in Roblox Studio.
The Turkish translation seems really poor. I’ve heard from friends with basic English proficiency (A1-A2 level) that they tried this update but went back to using Roblox Studio in English because it was easier to understand. With proper community feedback, I believe that it has the potential to become a valuable addition for Turkish developers.
I’m personally very grateful that you all added Turkish support since it’s also my native language. However, more than half of the people who speak this language on the platform haven’t even been able to access it for months, and I’d really like to see progress in this area alongside the Turkish language support.
As someone in the Notable Translator Program, I have to say that even I had to switch back to English a few times while enabling some beta features, questioning if I was turning on the right thing. So, I probably won’t use it much, but for those who don’t understand English at all, this can still be considered a good update. It’s not the worst, but some things seem completely out of context in the translations.
Very nice to see more languages supported.
Does Roblox consider crowdsourcing the translations? (similar with apps using Crowdin)
It should help with improving translations and make them feel more close to natural.
We use a combination of automated/human translations. Studio is the last product to be moved to our unified translations platform.
Once we are on the same localization workflows as the rest of the company, we should benefit from better and more updated translations. We are doing that integration now and it will go live early next year.
I still really hope that people will take up the Russian localization of roblox studio
But despite this, I am glad that you do not forget about people from other countries!
I hope that with this being on the same localization workflow, it’ll introduce a feedback option for certain types of features and functions for translators and developers to better improve Studio translations, like how we have translation feedback for experiences now.
Jokes aside, I’m really glad that you guys added Bahasa Indonesia to Studio, and it is also my native language. I’ll try switching to Bahasa Indonesia when I have some free time on Studio.
I won’t be using Bahasa Indonesia much since I’m comfortable and used with English interface, but I’m pretty sure this will help those who struggle to understand English.
Great! Now use more advanced AI models for Avatar detection and moderation so that we can come back to Turkey! Otherwise, very well done work keep it up!!!
Thanks for the continuous work to expand language support in Roblox Studio. It is good to see that Turkish, Polish, Thai, and Indonesian have been added. But I have noticed that Arabic still is not available. Despite it being one of the most spoken languages in the world.
Arabic:
Native speakers: 267 million
Rank: 5th most spoken language
Official language in 25 countries
I quite understand the challenges that come with supporting RTL, and it has been said before. However, many platforms have done a great job implementing RTL, which would increase accessibility so much for Arabic-speaking developers and users.
Adding Arabic to Roblox Studios would mean giving a voice not only to the big and growing developer community, but also to bring in newer content with much more creativity. I hope this important update will be prioritized very soon. Thank you!
