Hello everyone,
I recently made a post about this situation, and after thoroughly reading through Roblox’s Terms of Service (ToS) and Terms of Use (ToU) & etc. and submitting countless appeals, I am now fully convinced of how broken Roblox’s moderation system is.
Introduction
My account, T0pH4tter, was recently terminated for “buying, selling, or trading Robux,” along with the deletion of my group. However, I never engaged in any form of Robux trading or selling. I simply paid my developers through group payouts, which is an official feature of Roblox.
One of my developers, WolfyEmile, was also banned, and he was the reason behind this entire situation. He gifted 10,000 Robux to his friends using game passes as birthday presents. Shortly after, he was banned. Now, while I’m not here to defend his actions—since technically, this could be considered a violation of Roblox’s policies—I had nothing to do with it. I wasn’t aware of how he spent his earnings, nor should I be responsible for monitoring his personal transactions. Once again, I personally did not break any rules.
Roblox Support’s Lack of Care
I submitted multiple support tickets, providing as many details as possible about the situation, but—unsurprisingly—every appeal was instantly denied. It didn’t even feel like anyone actually read them. Further appeals either received no response at all or were met with the generic “your previous appeal was already denied, and this decision is final.” No explanations, no evidence, nothing—just a ban and a refusal to reconsider.
Frustrated, I contacted support again from my alternate account (Drawer_TheQ), asking a hypothetical question:
“If I, as a group owner, pay a developer 10,000 Robux, and they later sell those Robux, will I also be banned, or will only they be held accountable?”
Instead of a clear answer, I was met with copy-pasted links to the ToS and other Roblox policy pages—but no direct response to my question.
Roblox’s Rules and Their Inconsistencies
I carefully reread every ToS, ToU, and community guideline related to Robux transactions, including every link provided by support. Here’s what Roblox Community Standards actually state:
Using third-party services to buy, sell, trade, or give away Robux. This does not apply to Roblox gift cards.
Engaging in off-platform, secondary market transactions for account access or virtual content from experiences or Marketplace. This does not apply to account holders selling or transferring the rights to the account’s creations as part of a verifiable agreement.
Using the group payout system in a fraudulent or misleading manner; including offering payment in Robux for acting as a model for assets, joining groups, referring members, or role-playing in experiences.
Circumventing Roblox payment systems or fees, including by providing users indirect benefits for purchasing content or packages in other Roblox properties or systems.
Nowhere in any of these rules does it say that a group owner or the group itself can be held responsible if a developer misuses their earnings. Nowhere does it state that a group should be terminated just because a developer violated the rules (or I didn’t find it. If you did, please notif me). Yet, my group and account were deleted simply because I was associated with WolfyEmile.
This makes absolutely no sense—we are two different people. I had no knowledge of what he was doing with his earnings. I paid him for his work, and that’s where my responsibility should have ended. So why am I being punished for his actions?
Conclusion
At this point, I’ve given up on trying to contact support. It’s clear that appealing is useless and that Roblox’s moderation is careless, irresponsible, and completely broken. They don’t care about what actually happened. If they decide you’ve violated their rules, even without evidence, they will simply deny your appeal and move on.
It’s incredibly disappointing to see how little Roblox values its developers. And this isn’t just an isolated incident—cases like this are becoming more and more common lately.
I don’t expect Roblox’s moderation team to pay attention to this, but I just want to warn other developers about how things actually work.
A small note: When a group is locked, it still continues to generate revenue from its games, and guess what? Roblox still takes their percentage
Update:
The situation just got more stupid. Support doesn’t follow their own rules.
