NOOOOO!!! This is terrible! I was planning to be a clothing designer, and don’t have any starting funds, other than my premium stipend! Can there be an option to upload WITH premium for FREE, or upload WITHOUT premium and pay?
I agree very much so, I absolutely could never afford to pay EVERY time I upload a shirt/pants!
Probably not because it used to be premium only.
The bots will continue either way, they’ll spend group funds and get a new script and continue. None of the clothes will be taken offsale; it’s just adding a price. Nothing good comes out of this update; the only thing that even comes out of it is making legit designers struggle to make clothes because of the price.
It really just depends on the price, a lower price like 10 robux means a bit of stealing but people can afford, a madman price like 100 robux would mean that minimal botting but more angry customers. I personally think that botting has become permanent, there is no way to stop it
because clothes are botted onto the site in bulk where as inappropriate audio is a different process.
100 isn’t the confirmed price, but off of the accidental release its T-SHIRTS that cost 100 robux. Meaning it’s probably going to cost more to upload shirts or pants.
But here’s the thing, Premium costs $5, and you get to upload unlimited amounts of clothing. But with the upload pricing, there is a limit of what you can upload for the same price. It would also depend on how much the fee costs.
Yeah; If shirts end up costing 100 robux I don’t know why people think this is anywhere near a good update. With premium you can upload unlimited and now 4 pieces of clothing (if its 100 robux) for the same price of Premium.
Even more than 100 robux? Yeah there’s no chance this update is going to work, I’d rather just buy premium
It’s not confirmed it’s over 100 I’m just assuming because the accidental release had t-shirts as 100 soo.
Agreed, premium is affordable, since it allows you to upload unlimited shirts/pants, but with a price limit? Many people, including me, would give up their dreams of being a clothing designer.
if bots can buy premium they can buy robux
I’m glad that all users will be able to upload clothing to store regardless of subscription, but the fee to upload items seems a bit big.
A lot of clothing designers (Like me) heavily rely on the Robux that comes from the purchased clothing. 3 Robux seems like a huge achievement for a lot of small groups.
Lowering the fee for uploading clothing would be easier on creators
No fee for Premium users as well.
I think as long as they purge the existing botted clothing, clothing designers who haven’t turned much of a profit could see an increase in profits, which might remove the worry of them not making enough to be able to sell clothing.
rip clothing groups
rip 5 robux clothes
rip small designers
As somebody who has always wanted to starr a clothing career for roblox I can say this a big step forward! This helps with the copy paste shirt problem and allows all players to make shirts and pants without a subscription!
I can’t help but feel a little bothered by this.
Not only are we taxed on the ROBUX we earn via selling clothes, but now we’ll also lose profits just by uploading clothes? If owning premium exempts people from the fee then that might be more reasonable, but it still feels a little wrong. Also, this disrupts the “exclusivity” that premium had before when it was builders club; A backtrack considering how premium was promoted to be something more appealing to purchase for its perks. If the only meaningful perk with premium was earning ROBUX, which you would ultimately need to upload clothes anyways and could be purchased instead of subscribing, is there a point to premium anymore?
My opinions are all with the assumption that the fee will be something high, like 100 R. If I am uploading a collection of clothes, the cut of my profits would be very large. DevEx, a service that I somewhat rely on for quality of life improvements at the moment, would become increasingly difficult to apply to with this cut in profits that I would otherwise not have to deal with, assuming the fee is imposed on everyone regardless of premium status… which I would have to have regardless as DevEx requires it.
As for preventing clothes bots, I don’t think this will do so much for it. The people behind these bots will find some way to bypass it, as they have been doing. Either way, the damage has been done and the market will always be cluttered with their mess. This seems like more like a “bandage on a wound” rather than directly treating the problem. As someone who has their clothes re-uploaded often by bots & actual people, it’s kind of frustrating especially when I can’t have them taken down, even with evidence that it’s my work. It’s also a loss on profits, which this fee will directly impact.
I implore that you listen to the community’s grievances with this change and maybe consider applying some changes to the idea of this fee. I also hope that something is done to better deal with the glaring problem of clothing theft.
It’s cheaper just to buy the subscription. The t-shirt leak was 100 robux so nobody knows how much a shirt and pant would cost. If it’s 100, you can make 2 outfits for the price of premium. Also, people will still copy and past shirts and pant. The bots could buy premium, therefore they can buy robux too. All the bot owners have to do is use group funds and make a new script.
I believe this new change could go either way. Would there be any perks for Premium members?
