This is utterly ridiculous. With these last few updates, it feels like Roblox’s goal is to completely destroy any chance developers or designers have.
Technically it doesn’t make any difference. You’re still using real money to pay for the Robux that will go towards uploading the shirts.
No, not really, I can earn Robux without paying for money (as a developer), plus with this: I only need to pay for what I need, which is shirt fee, and not for a whole Premium
Also, I believe this is in-fact giving more chances for Developers since now we can use the Robux that we get paid with in commissions and designers have a better chance as there will be less spam bots reposting their clothing/posting so much you can’t get your name out
This isn’t making it harder for them to succeed. Remember that there is already a fee, and one you have to pay with real money. This is a lot better because it’s a small amount of robux, which you can easily earn, unless you plan on spam uploading clothes. If you really think about it, this could benefit small clothing designers a lot now that they don’t need to worry about spending actual money just to upload clothing.
They are very different sides of the same coin. Bypassed audios are a more personalized thing, where someone has to go in and make the audio directly, and edit it to attempt to bypass the filter. Spam clothing is almost entirely automated, with bots scraping the catalog for shirt/pants and uploading them automatically.
I create clothing and would rather spend 5 dollars a month rather than 1.20$ on each shirt I upload every day. God forbid if we made a mistake on the shirt we would have to spend another 100. Most small clothing designers don’t make any robux from developing and will have to spend some of their personal money on this update if they even are able to. I think it is very unfair for the clothing community to make such a huge change when this will eliminate more aspiring clothing designers than it will bots.
Those people already made a bunch of money off of stealing clothing what makes you think they can’t use that money
But not all designers are already developers with a steady source of Robux Income. This only helps those that are already big clothing designers, already established developers/commissioners in other fields of development, or already have a bunch of Robux. This update damages those that aren’t any of the above.
Roblox moderation would be able to do it if they made clothing display images private so only the creator and Roblox Staff can see it and they can detect if two display images are exactly the same and they can content delete the one made later if not from the original creator OR check in with the original creator through a PM, e-mail, etc. to make sure that the other uploader has permission to do this. This would be way better than adding a fee.
This helps to tackle the problem of botting and copied clothing without hurting those who make original clothing and don’t make a profit of over 100 robux per article of clothing (especially when they said they’re going to KEEP the marketplace fee)…
True. Why is everyone calling people bots???
Why not require both Premium and a fee? I think that that will eliminate botting even more.
I think there are some clothing bots and that’s why but they’re not all bots. Some people just steal templates and re-upload them
I don’t think 100 will be the final price. It was a mistake in the first place to turn it on early, and that’s just a little excessive for a T-shirt, IMO.
Hopefully they don’t make it 100R$ because that’s the main problem everyone is having with it. If the price were reduced and the marketplace fee were removed then it would be fine.
At the same time though, these people who have already stolen clothing and sold hundreds of them would be fine because they can afford the fee.
Does Premium Individuals still can upload for free while, non premium still have to pay?
I’m so curious about this change.
The thing it will eliminate is the people who want to design clothing, if bots are making a profit they will continue
I really hope the upload fee isn’t 100 robux, something like 20-35 robux would be reasonable for smaller designers to break even while also making it harder for people to start a new copy bot. However pre existing copied clothing groups already have thousands of robux on hand, so those will need to be taken down as soon as this change is applied.
Ah, that make sense. I didn’t even notice that.
If botting dramatically goes down I am guessing it will go down. I don’t know but lets just hope that botting stops to help Clothing designers.
