If they did make it free for premium users it kind of defeats the entire purpose of the change.
Theyāre killing their market community. Honestly, might just switch to Core Games once it gets big, they pay their devs a hell of a lot more than roblox does, and they donāt do stupid crap like this all the time.
This will get rid of sooo many shirt bots that annoy the heck out of me, this is a great change.
Maybe a suggestion to have to pay the price of the shirt to upload it, so that it wards off even more bots.
The fee have to be 1000 robux or moreā¦ Never have spam again
Ayo, lets not give them any ideas lol
This. This is the major problem people arenāt seeing. Youāre paying to most likely never be noticed. The only way this can even hope to work is with a complete shop reset.
Ah yes, clothing designers needing to pay money to have next to no chance at being seen in the current ocean of botted clothing. This update is far from ideal. If they did a full catalog reset, it might work, but itād annoy a lot of the community more than it already has. Most people canāt afford to pay for upload fees.
Okay hear me out, We all know robloxs catalog sucks right? And bots are clearly an issue.
Roblox has a avatar editor thing that they are releasing soon. What if not saying they will but If we do have access to see new Items put up on the catalog we might be able to make a in-game catalog system to help prevent bots and get a little bit of a better filter system.
Now with it though I assume we can get the creator of the shirt and make verified creators and those items will be boosted to the front. Weāll have to get more info from the actual avatar editor/shop or If I can get a glisp at the API part of it then we can get a bit more info on how we can resolve this issue for all parties, Except the bots curse them.
I mean papal exists or did you not charge irl money Iām interested in your view point
Does this include T-shirt sales?
Clothing designers already have to pay for premium monthly to sell their clothes in the avatar shop. In addition, if they ever stop paying for premium then all their clothes go off-sale unlike with a one-time fee. Having a one-time fee will eliminate most botting in the avatar shop because it is no longer profitable. Clothing botting only works when they re-upload clothes in massive numbers under different groups and accounts. Overtime, the avatar shop will continue to get cleaned up by moderators and clothing designers will have a fair chance at selling their clothes without being hidden behind pages of duplicates.
This is kinda nice but pretty dumb in my opinion. This may make it more difficult for unfunded games who create shirts and other items for their supporters, or content in the game itself.
I would propose that it at least only be charged the robux fee when they sell it for any amount of robux, otherwise if they mark it as free, then there would be no charge.
I would also recommend that it only be a one-time charge, in case someone takes it off-sale then puts it back on sale later.
This is stupid. Yet another benefit of premium down the drain. All thatās left is Trading, a special icon, benefits in SOME GAMES (Most games donāt care), and monthly R$, and you pay significantly more for these R$ than if you were just to buy them outright. Give them some benefits again. Maybe allow us to continue uploading items for free? We need something here. Youāve taken away the following:
- Exclusive Games
- Exclusive Groups
- Group Ownership
- Higher Group Cap
- Reduced Market Fee
and now you want to take away our unique ability to upload content? Whatās next? Everyone can trade limiteds? Because thatās all weāve got left. Congratulations on ruining the subscription.
I am really shocked and frustrated to hear this!
Small clothing designers barely make any profit from selling clothes, so adding a fee is just a crime.
100 robux is simply too much, that basically means youāll have to pay 1000 robux for creating only 10 clothes, thatās way too expensive, especially when we know that robux prices were heavily increased last year.
Youāll also need at least 50 purchases to make your clothes profitable!
You no longer need premium to create groups, premium robux bonuses were decreased, you no longer need premium to avoid google ads, thereās barely any games with premium benefits, premium monthly robux is lower compared to monthly BC/TBC robuxā¦ and soon, you will no longer need premium for making clothings. Premium is already almost useless, but at this point itās going to be completely useless (unless youāre a trader). Soon, everyone will be able to trade/sell collectible items!
My conclusion:
This update simply proves Robloxās greediness and hypocrisy!
Hypocrisy because if Roblox was really worried about bots, they would have put a captcha and no clothings fee. In reality, theyāre just doing this update for more money (because they never have enough).
This also proves how premium is a scam, how premium is much more useless than its predecessor the Builderās Club.
Its way cheaper to buy premium and post unlimited amount of clothes than pay 100 robux per clothing item. Also, Iām not talking about commission designers or multiy skill designers. As I said thereās only one pro to tons of cons.
Itād honestly be better to have an exclusive premium shop or something where people can buy clothes for more robux from real sellers and not bots I am incredibly sick of botting but rather then making designers who already are severely underpaid pay $1 to upload clothes when coders like myself barely have any costs to make robux is pretty unjust either fix the botting in another way or make a separate way to sell higher quality clothes
Yea, thatās probably true.
Correct me if Iām wrong but almost ALL clothing designers do something else besides designing clothes, thatās what I said.
Not true, there isnāt just one pro. Iām gonna list everything that Iāve found.
Pros
- Everyone can upload clothes
- It DOES HELPS to combat bots
- Higher quality clothes will be uploaded since people will need to think better before putti g something on sale
Cons
- It may be more expensive to upload clothes (not confirmed since the 100R$ fee isnāt officially confirmed)
- Less clothes will be uploaded
- It may not be worthy to upload so many clothes.
It has both pros and cons, and I think there is no need to āpick sidesā in this. Roblox isnāt doing this to earn more profit. It is a good decision with some bad things.
I dont agree with this update because there are so many botted clothes that I dont think this would make a profit to any small clothing designer as there is so many choose from
.Example:
Premium is cheaper in the long run. Infinite uploads, with no real fee. Not only that but most people upload to groups, which means their clothing stays on sale even after premium runs out.
I could see limiting premium uploads per month as a viable solution, then allowing them to purchase more upload slots, or even giving higher premium levels more upload slots per month. Itās inexpensive, and doesnāt screw developers over as much. Plus, it allows premium users to keep their exclusive benefits.
