Upcoming Changes to Avatar Catalog Upload Requirements

They’re doing that, or at least, improving catalog search, finally!

Exactly! But think about it in the real world. You have to work in order to earn money. Once you earn that money, you will gradually start being able to afford things. Literally everyone on this platform started with nothing.

Yeah but a lot of these people think roblox isnt likr the real world.

I thought that’s what they were going to do

What you need to work for money??? No way!

I see, but that doesn’t mean these lessons don’t apply.

I know that. Other people here don’t.

I don’t know why they haven’t done it already. They should run an automated code that looks for catalog items with repeated names (like RED SHIRT RED SHIRT RED SHIRT) and then delete them and refund all the buyers.

charging an exorbitant cost for uploading clothes will force smaller designers to charge more, especially for commissions - and then why go to a smaller designer to pay more money if you can pay less for a well-off designer to make an outfit? It’s going to be way harder for smaller designers to grow their businesses

I do agree that 50 R$ could be lower

I don’t see how 50 R$ is ‘exorbitant.’ Any lower Roblox would struggle to profit from clothing sales I doubt. For big designers 50 Robux is nothing, and if you put the effort in, you can become a big designer!

I know :pensive: and if theres 3D clothing soon then thats definitely going to destroy the designing community as well, very sad days it is :frowning:

How would 3D clothing destroy the the designing community? You can easily apply your clothing design to 3D Clothing as a texture. 3D Clothing could give you more opportunity. I don’t see the issue here.

Well it’d definitely destroy me I worded that wrong, because if there was 3d clothing then we’d probably have to figure out a new template that would probably be more complicated and figure out possible meshes.

Not sure when I said otherwise lol.

I apologize. I thought that was a point you were trying to make

Nope, but I apologize that it seemed that way. I have experience in other areas of development besides clothing design, and bidding thousands of R$ on ads with little to no return. It’s disappointing, but spend money to make money I guess.

However, to refer to “developers” as a separate entity from clothing designers is exactly what I’m trying to stop- because clothing designers are developers too! We’re just as valid as scripters, builders, UI designers, music composers, etc. and make equally important contributions to the development scene.

Ah yes, I agree. I’m not sure why I mentioned them as seperate because I see all contributers as developers. My point was that majority of the time you have to work for success since it seems as if that’s what most designers are complaining about. Although, I do agree that 50 R$ is a bit too much. I apologize

I think this update is good due to making it so the bots can’t spam constantly but It does have some massive impacts, I will list them below

1.Making it so people without lots of Robux can’t upload shirts for example a Small clothing group they would be restricted to it due to the tax of 100 Robux on a shirt

2.This is kinda helping the more richer out, say that you had 10,000 Robux and you made a shirt without premium due to Roblox updating it so you can’t see Botted clothing this would mean starter Clothing groups would only profit from 1 shirt if they only had enough to pay the tax for 1.

3.Lastly we need to think how much people wouldn’t make any Robux and ultimately many people on this Developer forum are going to go through the lose of not being able to grow a successful Clothing brand just due to the fact that Roblox has implemented this feature

So In a way this has kinda Damaged the Roblox Catalog in the possible long term.

Please read what you are saying. Not everyone is wealthy enough to purchase premium membership each month (like me).

Premium only provides a limited supply of “extra robux”. It’s not worth it to pay so much just to upload an outfit.

In conclusion: Not everyone is rich enough to pay for such thing. Please look at it from someone else’s POV before stating such thing.

From your reply, it seems like you’re supporting Roblox’s greed for money. Clearly, one of Roblox’s motives of this update is to get more people to pay for robux and premium.

Of course, no hate, just stating some facts and opinions.
