Fr, it’s so infuriating. Luckily I also build so I have another source of revenue, but designing is fun and I love seeing people enjoy the clothing I make. I also love taking ideas from people on the group wall, now all I see is complaining about this crappy bug. The gold medal goes to Roblox for making a whole community mad!
“I don’t make games so I can’t criticize them!”
That’s exactly the mindset you’re using, I’m not gonna go over it but I think community feedback no matter from which side it is is important.
I don’t care what you think honestly. You’re not a designer, and have no clue what you’re talking about.
Since you can’t prevent me from giving out my opinion (if you feel bothered sorry, that’s how it works): I think this update is a bad band aid fix which won’t fix things in the long run, but 10 robux is also not that much, I have to upload lots of SFX that is 1-3 seconds long for 20 robux each, and I don’t complain.
Roblox is also slowly deleting old botted clothing which gives clothing designers a chance to be more visible.
Ok, stand your point, it’s fine. You do have a point nonetheless, but I still think crushing whatever others may think is wrong. Have a nice day or night, mighty.
By the way, I hope Roblox gets on their stuff and fix the group issue, that’s unbelievably annoying.
I think the anger stems from the fact that it quite frequently isn’t just 10 robux. A recent commission I took was a suit. It took 7 attempts between myself and the commissioner to get a working shirt. So, 70 robux: I spent 50 and they spent 20. I can afford that, sure, but lots of small designers can’t. There was also matching pants to upload too. There’s no refund for the moderation making a mistake, and that adds up, especially for smaller designers. I’ll be totally honest, I don’t know much about SFX so it could be a similar story for you lot, but this is just the issue with clothes and that’s why we’re upset. I think there’d be way less outrage if we got refunded for clothes that aren’t accepted.
That’s actually upsetting, when my audio assets get moderated I get my robux back, why don’t you guys get your robux back? That’s even more unjust.
I seriously hope Roblox isn’t digging your graves only because they have in mind 3D clothing, I’m sure both things can co-exist.
I’m not bothered by you or the 10 robux fee that was implemented. What bothers me is the fact that clothing is not showing up in all of the designers groups stores after paying to upload them. And Roblox is working on it because 5 of my 10 new clothing items have finally made it into my group store. It only took 6 bug reports but hey, at least they are finally seeing the issue is not fixed and making an effort to get it straightened out.
Yeah noticed that, while I don’t want us to start a cat fight, I do understand your point better now, so I can give you a sorry.
It’s fine, no hard feelings. But it is true enough that they don’t refund us and small designers are suffering. And I got a bit peeved when they didn’t take me seriously after making all those reports about the group stores issue not being completely resolved.
See, if that was the way the clothes fee was done, I don’t think there’d be too much of an issue. However, if your clothes are declined, they’re just left sitting there really, you don’t get a notice of why they were declined or anything, unless they were inappropriate enough for a warning. Real interesting to see how they do things on your side though! Hopefully a system like that will be introduced for us too.
I just paid twice to get a shirt to go through. The short sleeve version went through fine, but the long sleeve didn’t. I paid 20 robux for that one shirt.
The only guess I could think of is that Roblox avoids refunding clothing because of bots, which funnily enough for no one shows how messed up the situation is.
I wish Roblox had a bit more compassion for clothing designers. I’m just not seeing it.
I personally don’t mind the 10 robux fee, saves me money from buying premium as well as the fees have been in Roblox before a couple years ago, and the fee for uploading used to cost more than it is now.
Other than that, it shouldn’t be such a huge hurdle for clothing designers, especially the smaller ones. The cheapest premium offers 440 robux per month, that’s enough for a couple uploads and a small ad to run. It’s manageable.
I do have an issue with the bug where clothing isn’t properly updating in the group store, I have to go in through “Create” and just manually pull ID’s to put into my game instead.
Same here. Yesterday I paid twice to get 2 shirts to go through. For some reason the first version was deleted. It really annoys me because they never tell for what nor give you a refund.
I totally agree with you. It’s a bit unfair to warn when they don’t give a reason why. Yet I see outfits that 10 years olds are wearing that look like thong panties and I wonder how that got through moderation. Not all are bypassed I’m sure.
This is what I’ve secretly been afraid of. I’m terrified by the thought that Roblox is trying to “pave the way” for 3d clothing designers to come in and entirely replace classic clothing designers. I can do both, but they also involve entirely different skillsets and I would be extremely disappointed for one skillset to be “extinct.”
If Roblox is trying to dissolve a community, I wish they’d just do it and take the backlash instead of gradually making the clothing designer community irrelevant through irresponsible updates that have no lasting effect and no follow-through.
they wouldn’t have rolled this out if they didn’t notice an increase in revenue. but now really, taxing players for the inability to develop a system that can detect a bot uploading the same Red:fire:Plaid:fire: X Khaki:100:Sneakers:100: 50 times an hour is not a good move. add some more headers to the upload endpoint! change the url daily! (not like anyone who uploads clothes programatically has good intentions). i mean, this will not cripple all bots, but making it harder is a step forward. and while you’re at it, LOCK SOME GROUPS!!!
can you spot the pattern? i get it, the botter has a lot of groups, but just insist. they’ll eventually run out of robux, but you have to push and lock them all. and did i mention, if you do so, there’s a scooby snack in there??? yessss there’s robux in the groups that won’t end up being usd sold if you take care of this. and we all know how much you hate usd sold robux
and also, instead of having the front page be this,
can’t you just take them permanently offsale, with no way of putting them offsale again?? everyone wins: people who bought them don’t lose robux, and the frontpage is nicer to look at. but naw, gotta have em spend some more!! okay let’s say you cd the clothing but please take it offsale, i have like 3 outfits i wear and i can’t discover anything new using the catalog because it’s a mess
don’t tell me to remember the human, there’s no human, only a corporation. and i think copied clothing brings them more money than what they’d make with quality
We designers work hard on our designs. And for them to get botted, it sucks. Maybe if you actually were a designer, you would know what it feels like. Giving your opinion for something that you know literally NOTHING about is so funny to read.
