Updated Experience Controls Now Live

I’ve expressed the idea of the Experience Controls being optional multiple times, I don’t understand why we can’t have a feature as basic as this. There’s so much unnecessary space and it’s even huge on mobile, the platform it was designed for.

Not to mention, I disabled VC for a reason and Roblox still uses the space the voice-chat icon took up to ask me to enable it???

What’s the point of this…

So… is there really no way to disable the screenshot button? In the most polite way possible, it looks incredibly stupid on my 20" monitor and I really cannot fathom why adding this was thought necessary when PC users already have a dedicated key on their keyboard for taking screenshots. Seriously, why is this button enabled on PC? I know it wouldn’t be difficult to check whether or not the player’s device has a keyboard connected and enable/disable the capture button accordingly.
ROBLOX, plz fix.

Edit: You can disable it; I apologize for posting before I looked (I instinctively checked the settings menu instead of the “hamburger” menu). Still, it’s painfully obvious that this UI was designed for mobile first with PC users as an afterthought.

ive said this elsewhere but the captures button is EXTRA useless on mobile
“ah yes lets give the people with a dedicated screenshot button a button in our game too!” - roblox 2024

even if theres no screenshot button on the device pow + vol down is easier than the button

Except captures can hide all GUIs and your device’s screenshot button can’t.

theres a way to actually kill the captures button, kills immersive and i had it forced-enabled for awhile

The old Unibar icon is still present in the Ingame console menu.

It shouldn’t even be rolled out to console if you aren’t using flags though, I assume you mean controller input type.

so roblox is now forcing us to enable vc?? i dont think a child should have that around their screen if they are ever gonna enable it

things on roblox vc shouldn’t be as said as a child.

this is not vrchat.

is this intentional? I’m playing theme park tycoon 2 and the custom cursor doesn’t seem to go over the new UI:

That game probably hides the mouse icon with UserInputService.MouseIconEnabled and displays a fake cursor icon with an ImageLabel. If you were to change the mouse icon with Mouse.Icon or UserInputService.MouseIcon then this would not happen.

because roblox doesnt care what the developers think. its all about getting that revenue (and with the force enabled “wanna enable voice chat?” thing, data) from dumb children

If you guys are not gonna listen to the community regarding the hamburger icon an etc, i made this very simple concept if they added the option to hide it.

I asked a staff member about these improvements on a previous post. I guess all we can really do is wait for a response.

One thing I can say is this is not viable on mobile, and on PC, we’d only be able to hide the roblox icon and chat icon, as developer integrations will be added to the hamburger menu.

I hope we could hide it anyways and enable it manually, or automatically hide it if we disable everything in the hamburger menu and there are no dev integrations there, with it automatically appearing if there is a developer integration, but right now on pc these buttons serve to take up space.

please revert the New In-Game Topbar y-axis size, it is extremely large the previous version’s size was fine, many people on the post also agree with my request. Or give developers the option to adjust the size

I still don’t have this ui, I had I one time during testing for like a few weeks and then never got it.

Did this new UI by any chance break the jump button on Android? I can’t go back to test how it was before the change, but on my Android phone, jump happens on release of the button, not press. Or rather, it happens after a short subsecond delay, if I press and hold. It’s like the UI is waiting a vert short while to see if I will long press, double press or something along those lines.

It is noticeable when pressing the jump button off-centre so the the highlight is visible and not unobscured by my own thumb. The button does not highlight immediately, unless it is a really quick tap.

The Roblox default cursor is hidden, So it will not go over the UI.

It would be greatly appreciated if Roblox gave developers the ability to hide the hamburger menu, or at least automatically hide it when it makes no sense to be there (i’ll give reasons as to why below).

This frustration comes simply out of the fact that us developers have even less screen space to work with, especially for mobile devices. In particular, the hamburger menu in my experience only provides access to the report button since I have the rest of the buttons disabled. There is no logical argument to be made here for the existence of that hamburger menu as a result, not to mention the fact that the report button is the same amount of taps away from simply clicking the roblox logo and navigating to the report tab.

Therefore, it would be greatly appreciated if we had a way to hide the hamburger menu. I understand that this layout will just work for the average Roblox experience, but some of us want to create experiences that can truly utilise as much screen space as we can get our hands on!

Edit: The new “Party” mode was added to the hamburger menu, which complicates my suggestion. However, as a final alternative, it would be very nice if Roblox allows developers to add their own buttons alongside the Roblox ones instead of relying on custom GUI implementation of it, with tooltip support.

I agree with this post,

Maybe hiding the menu may not be a good idea though, malicious developers can use it to their advantage. It would be appreciated if we at least could use the UI version before this one. So the players can still use the menu button. Like some sort of toggle as how the TextChatService Legacy UI toggle worked.
