Users Stuck in 'Typing' State Due to Extreme Load on Popular Topic

Two users appear to be stuck in an infinite ‘typing’ state, possibly due to heavy load/an outage on the following popular topic:

The issue was noticed on June 29, 2024 (albeit probably begun occurring before then), and has persisted since then. The affected users, who have been stuck in the ‘typing’ state, have not been active for several hours.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Navigate to the popular topic: Introducing the Ban API and Alt Account Detection.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and observe the section that shows users who appear to be typing.
  3. Note that some users remain in the ‘typing’ state indefinitely.

This bug is causing confusion among forum users and potentially disrupting communication within the topic. It appears to be linked to the extreme load and popularity of the topic or a potential recent outage.

They’re still there as of 536 pm MST.

Also this was occurring since June 27th (or something close to that).
