Becoming a HR
Becoming a Captain (Trainee HRs)
- To become a HR you must first become a [10] Captain. They are low ranks that are trained and tested to become a Major.
- Captains are made from rank [9] 1st Lieutenants that have expressed interest in becoming a HR by posting in the #request-captain channel on Discord. Only 1st Lieutenants+ can view that channel.
- 1st Lieutenants must have behaved maturely and been active, including in the Discord server.
- Captains are only made during the first week of each new month. This makes it easier to track their 2 months of progress and to ensure people don’t go immediately from 1st Lieutenant to Captain.
Becoming a Major
- Captains have 2 months to pass at least 5 supervised trainings (STs). They can only do 2 supervised trainings with the same HR. Read the ‘Supervised Trainings’ section of this devforum post to learn more about STs.
- ST logs must be posted on the USSF Discord server by the HR hosting the ST.
- At the end of the 2 months, Captains will be evaluated. If their maturity, activity, ST scores and general behaviour are satisfactory, they will be promoted. Captains can also be promoted after 1 month if their performance warrants it.
- Captains who fail are made 1st Lieutenants and can try the Captain process again later. Their previous progress will not be forgotten.
- Each Captain has a channel made on Discord which is named after them and posted under the ‘Captain Logs’ category. This is where their logs are posted by HRs.
Becoming a Colonel
- Colonels are chosen from Majors. Majors must consistently be active and contributing positively to the group.
- Colonels must have been a Major for at least 3 months.
Becoming a General
- Generals are chosen from Colonels. This rank is given to Colonels who have performed well for a long period of time.
HR Rules
Quota:
- Each HR, regardless of rank, must host at least 4 events per month.
- Game nights do not count.
- HRs can not have more than 4 co-hosts per month.
- Event logs must be posted on the discord server.
- Each HR and Captain has their own event logs channel.
- Branches events count, but only if properly recorded in your core logs channel.
- Post a full screenshot in your logs channel. This includes the timestamp in your taskbar
Other Rules:
- Members can only be promoted a maximum of once per day. This rule does not apply to the XP system.
- The lower the rank someone is, the easier it should be for them to be promoted.
- Trainings should last at least 30 minutes and at most 90.
- End your shouts when events end.
- Do not overshout.
- Check the veterans section for if someone rejoins and wants their old rank back.
- Admin abuse is not allowed. At USSF forts only kick, ban, pban and server messaging are enabled. Do not kick people unless you warned them first and they continued acting in such a way. Only ban people if they deserve it, otherwise kick them.
- Common sense applies for other rules against toxicity, corruption, etc.
Supervised Trainings
- Only Captains can request to host their own STs.
- 1st Lieutenants can also help with STs if a HR allows it.
- During a supervised training, a high rank member will supervise and guide the trainer.
- High ranking members are not allowed to conduct a low-effort ST.
- Captains should use the #request-st channel on the USSF Discord server to arrange an ST. Captains can only have 2 STs with the same HR.
Supervised trainings are graded out of 10 according to these traits:
- Communication(2 points): Explaining what’s happening, introductions at start of trainings and rounds/obbies, giving good and constructive feedback.
- Maturity(2 points):: No fooling around, using proper grammar and the ability to deal with situations
- calmly and collected
- Enforcement of Rules(2 points): Enforcing the rules of U.S.S.F. in an efficient and fair way.
- Pacing(2 points):: Making sure rounds/obbies have good timing, are well organised, have variety and keeping intermission between rounds short.
- Conclusions(2pts):: Promotions being given quickly and for those who deserve it, submitting a screenshot of the training and the overall success of the training.
A pass grade is at least 8.5/10.
Points are decided by the HR
USSF Discord & Training Schedule
- Posting a training schedule on the Discord server is recommended but not compulsory.
- High Ranks must use the USSF Discord server.
- HRs must help moderate the server.
Raids
Raids can be organised by USSF High Ranks as long as:
- The HR is known to be capable of leading
- The chosen location is not an unbalanced place to raid and does not have admin abuser
There is a channel in the discord server where you can post screenshots of raids
Demotions & Suspensions
- Breaking rules should lead to a demotion if it is repeated behaviour
- Suspensions can be given alongside demotions and their length should depend on the severity of the act.
How to become a Veteran
Requirements to become a veteran
- Not currently active.
- Was an active USSF member for at least 2 years.
- Was a prominent member in the clan, known by many of the other members.
- Was a positive addition to our community with no history of causing drama, being toxic or abusing power.
Rules for veterans
- Veterans can not take a leadership role in USSF events. They may not help High Ranks. If at an event, they are to be treated like normal members.
Giving veterans their old rank back
- Veterans may be moved back to their old rank if they were made a veteran a maximum of 2 months ago.
- Veterans’ contributions to the group and experiences means it is easier for them to be promoted as they have already proven themselves.
Reranking Veterans & Others who left the group
- People may not have their previous USSF rank restored unless they left the group a maximum of 2 months ago
- There needs to be proof of their previous rank.
