Introducing the Open Source Studio MCP Server

  • Our new open-source Studio MCP server allows LLMs, like Claude, to modify your experiences directly within Roblox Studio based on your requests.

Expanding How Commerce Can Help You Earn and Grow Your Communities

  • Today, eligible creators can sell physical products within their experiences as the Roblox Commerce APIs come out of closed beta, with Shopify as the first partner.
  • Users will be able to purchase physical goods directly from experiences using the natively integrated Shopify checkout.
  • Creators can bundle physical item purchases with exclusive avatar items and developer products, driving engagement.

Catalog Asset Update Initiative

  • We are introducing a new initiative to update assets with non-policy violating changes that pass Roblox validation and moderation standards.

Boosting the Visibility of Trending Events in Experiences

  • This new sort shows active events based on the experience’s daily active users (DAU), filterable by location and platform, to help players quickly find relevant events to join.

Updates

Update on Legacy Chat Deprecation and TextChatService Migration

  • We’ve started to automigrate experiences to TextChatService in batches. If you have custom chat features, we strongly recommend you manually update to TextChatService. You can do this before or after the migration.
  • Please read through our migration guide for tips on how to implement key chat features.

This week started off bad with the AI update. The middle of the week had a good update of making your own merchandise. Then end of the week had the catalog asset update and is useful for its auto update thingy for stopping exploits. And the final Announcement is- another section to charts… 2/4 features were really useful. Mid week. Would have been a horrible week if not for the “Expanding How Commerce Can Help You Earn and Grow Your Communities” announcement.

Here is a bug I have been reporting on for awhile: CreatePath Oversight leads to crash and soft lock

Edit: Another issue Roblox should look at: https://devforum.roblox.com/t/roblox-crosswoods-situation-discussion/3111345?u=winterstorm_meow

They’re gonna keep releasing AI features just to fuel the cash grab games even more and make even more profits off them.

AI - You either love it or hate it. I think it can be a really good tool in the right places. Heck, I used it to make an A* implementation! So yeah. AI isn’t all bad, what is all bad is how people implement it.

The way ROBLOX is implementing it qualifies as “all bad” in my eyes.

Hey, when will our feature requests for the Roblox engine be accepted. We have been waiting for years and are in need of those features being added to the Roblox engine.

Thank you.
