What are some good lighting settings?

I’m not really that great with lighting, so I was wondering if you guys could share some of your lighting settings for me to try out?

I’m mainly looking for somewhat cartoony settings (so not hyper realistic) but I’m interested in looking any tbh.

I always add a ColorCorrection with saturation of .5-1, contrast 0-.1, with TintColor being 255,255,255. It makes colours pop

I’ll try that out, thanks!

Hi! I’m still looking for lighting recommendations.

There’s not really going to be a “correct” one but I’ll mark the one I like best as a solution.

@Fm_Trick I like yours but it’s a bit too poppy (like you said)

fyi i know how to mark a comment as the solution

This is an open-ended question, where there is no real answer because they are all matters of opinion and this isn’t an issue The catagory is called design support after all.
There are a lot of these types of questions around the forums that never have a solution.

To achieve a (mostly) cartoony lighting setting, I sometimes use ColorCorrection with:

  • Brightness of 0.03
  • Saturation of 0.3
  • Contrast of 0.1 or 0.15
  • I leave TintColor at its default values

However, like @RedDuck765 said, this is an open-ended question.

Depends on what kind of setting you’re looking for and the environment of it all. Your lighting should compliment your build rather than vice versa.

If you want a cartoony nighttime lighting setup, I usually do this for the lighting properties:

And then, this is how it looks in my game. Shadows are a dark blue while the outside regions are a dark purple.
I might have the colors swapped around but eh. It looks nice to me.
