What are you working on currently? [2016]

Remember how I said I was moving to the interior? I lied. Here’s a neon sign.

Okay, that’s it. I swear. Next update will be the interior unless I do something else that warrants a post.

I’ve been working on my 2016 BLOXY Awards nomination video! Why not check it out guys!

Where do you get your textures? Is there a place that you find them or do you make them yourself or have someone make them for you?

Oh, it’s on.

Oh boy! More competition!

I most enjoy getting textures from a nearby abandoned store that I sometimes photograph, with some photoshop work and a camera, I feel I get more personal and unique textures. However, that takes a lot of work, so only a few are made that way. If you like some of the ones I’ve made, I’m happy to share them. Just ask.

If you want your own without the work, I recommend: http://www.textures.com/

Thanks, I’ve actually seen that sight before though I should take another look on there to see what I can find.

can ya try 0.01

My rain splash system now moves different parts between splashes extremely fast instead of resizing them in order to optimize for how roblox’s batch/cluster refreshing works! @zeuxcg

I noticed that character graphics had trouble updating whenever it was raining, and this should fix that:

I also added foxes
(I still need to tweak quadruped physics so their feet don’t clip through the ground so often lol)

I edited it. The last one uses 0.65, which is the lowest I could go before crash.

Sounds like a challenge O.O

edit: totally meant to reply to ScriptOn there

You could use very simple IK, right?

Oh, I love messing around with the lighting in ROBLOX.

I really want to make it so that it’s done by the physics instead of the graphics. (I should probably do both though, at least when the character is really close up)

Character physics doesn’t work well with quadrupeds :sob:

Saw @Zomebody’s tweet about Discord webhooks, thought I’d give them a go.

Still only about half finished, I’m working on a “processing” window that opens when the player presses send, as well as notifying them whether or not the message was sent afterwards. Also adding a cooldown timer for individual subjects, Feedback at 1 hour and Bug Report at ~20 minutes.

With comment sections being as spam-filled as they are I think this is a pretty decent alternative for the time being, especially for developers looking for a reliable source of feedback and bug reports.

I’m sure if you could disable collisions between the individual triangles you wouldn’t have any performance issues :P Anyone know the status on collision filters? (e.g. @VolcanoInc)

Is it possible to read from Discord as well with webhooks? I’d like to be able to read the reports via a plugin I develop. I was going to implement the same thing with DataStores, but it would be a tremendous relief if I didn’t have to deal with the headache of partitioning reports across and within multiple keys (due to key data size) and taking a chunk out of my DataStore request pool. If so, what are the limitations? Could a game on Popular sustain a feature/bug reporter through just a Discord bot?
