What are you working on currently? [2016]

BTRoblox addresses most of the issues with it, luckily.

The groups, games, and creations ‘modules’ are my least favourite part about the new design. I like being able to view all of someone’s displayed games as soon as I go onto their profile, without having to press 2 buttons just to see them all.

Personally I feel like if they just removed the weird slideshow and made it display it like this it’d be great:

I remember there being a OBS theme that those OBS people could switch between.
Would be nice if we (everyone) can switch between themes. (not for color, but for layouts)

EDIT: Totally meant OBC and not the streaming program

And have it display for everyone else?

That’d be awesome. It could let people customise their layout depending on what kind of stuff they do on the site. e.g. A game developer would have their games, a model maker would have their models, etc.

I meant more like if you picked a detailed overview, you would get that on every profile.
Now that you mentioned that way, I’m not entirely sure which one is better…
(I mean, I like details, but certain people might switch to an undetailed, or just the default one, whatever that is)

because you’re not utilizing the mighty shia lablox animation power

I have the mighty Bluay animation power now.

just… do it

Mind if I whip up something neat I think would fit your game’s theme very well? It kind of changes a few things I think you’ve overdone (your color choice + bordersize makes it look a little dated)

I might have some time later tonight and worst case scenario I’ll just get more ideas for the Kinetic Code UI update.

By all means PM me a change if you have an idea for something better  I would like to keep the same theme, the layout is ALWAYS up for change. The top-bar with the main menu aspects will not be changing though, unfortunately.

(The Primary and Secondary part of the menu was going to change, bare that in mind ;_; )

I have a road pack that I made a while ago and someone wanted a parking lot pack so I had fun making one. Here’s an example of a parking lot I whipped up with some pieces from the road pack to border it:

mesh, CSG, or parts?

Parts and a bit of CSG, and a few block meshes in there for the paint.

I lied again. I have no idea what I’m doing with the interior. The concept art that exists for the interior isn’t really helping with the layout or anything. So I’m back to exterior work. Things are really coming along outside, but the inside’s a real problem.

I made a quick list of things I would personally change. I’m not trying to bash you anything, it’s just what I would try to do to improve the final product.

  • The cylinder platform underneath the gun isn’t centered around the gun
  • The platform is also too big and the combination of size + diamond metal makes it very distracting. I’d make it a Brick or Metal and resize it to be smaller by a few studs
  • The geometry of the UI itself feels very odd. There are subconcious things that rustle peoples jimmies, like the shadow on those ‘ASSAULT SMG SHOTGUN RECON NEW WEAPONS’ buttons being on the same size as the light source (bottom-left corner). Shouldn’t the light source be coming from the direction opposite of the light?
  • The credits are very hard to see. Change some text around and play with fonts/fontsize/textoutline
  • The icons selected feel very generic, like something someone would just copy-paste from the catalog “library” I’m not sure if you have any specific game for inspiration on the game, but games like BF and COD rarely ever use icons for these types of things.
  • Angling the weapon at 30* towards the camera instead of 45 of whatever you may have put there.
  • Adding smoke to the background. I would spend a few minutes customizing it to look the coolest possible.
  • Back to the geometry. You’re shown all the weapon classes then a ‘NEW WEAPONS’ button. I think that might be redundant, but that’s more personal preference of mine.
  • Don’t be afraid to stack things against the left/right side of the screen using Offset + Scale. A lot of the elements near the top could probably be changed like this to look better
  • The primary/secondary would probably look better at the bottom-right, where there’s a ton of open space. It opens up the top area so that you can move up those class names and leave more room for the gun, which you can now move closer to the camera because it has room. This’ll come in handy for camos, attachments, or just inspecting what you just unlocked.

[details=The color choice for the UI. I picked out a color pallette online for you (sorry they don’t covert to RGB, but you can easily just google and translate it in a second or two). Click to expand and view:

Thanks for the suggestions.
The cylinder is still being actively changed because I actually completely agreed with your cylinder suggestion before I posted heh… I keep changing it. Will change it more drastically.

I like the smoke idea, will experiment.
Credits color will be changing + font, to make it more vibrant.
The icons are a bit generic on purpose, It’s not meant to be terribly flashy, but we’ll see where it take it in the future.
You can rotate the weapon any which way you please, which is why it’s at that specific angle in the picture :stuck_out_tongue:

Still adding onto the weapons menu though, there WILL definitely be additions in UI (that to your satisfaction) will be on the side of the screen,

Thanks ScriptOn.
