Love to see staff actively replying here. Here’s a ton of feedback from experimenting with the new Asset Manager.
Since this is going to replace the Toolbox for viewing your own assets, I feel like an important thing to take note of is that this should not break any existing workflow with the current Toolbox. Some of my feedback is heavily based around this.
In list mode, I want to be able to drag and rearrange these horizontal tabs, so e.g. I can have “Date Created” be 2nd in the list instead of 4th.

It appears you can still rearrange the tabs by right-clicking on them and then unchecking+rechecking them in the order you want, but just being able to click+drag them would be much better UX.
Scroll bars should be easier to see. It took me a few minutes to realize they were even there.

Compare this to the Toolbox’s scroll bar:

The new Asset Manager doesn’t seem to know the difference between group IDs and user IDs, because when I click on my group’s inventory (group ID 5936551), it displays all of the assets owned by the user with ID 5936551.
The arrows on the “Filter items” menu point to the right, yet the sub-menu opens on the left side, sometimes appearing off the screen. I’d expect it to open on the right.

Under the “Filter items” menu, the “Creator” tab displays hundreds of users and groups I’ve never heard of before. I can only assume that it’s grabbed the name of every single creator I have ever happen to purchase an asset from, over the 10+ years that I’ve had this account for. This seems quite counterintuitive; shouldn’t it just include a text box to type the name of a user/group there?

In grid mode, asset names do not wrap around to the 2nd line. This is a step down from how the Toolbox worked… I can’t tell what any of these assets are!

Not all of these buttons display tooltips.

If this is going to replace the Toolbox (at least for viewing your own assets), it would make sense for me to set up the window in the same way I previously had the Toolbox, which was always docked on the left side of the screen next to the viewport. I’m used to that.
Unfortunately, this button is all the way at the bottom and I have to constantly move my mouse all the way down to click it, and then back up to select an inventory. Could it be moved to a different location where it’s easier to access, like at the top? It’s also kind of hard to see here, so some people might miss it.
Additionally, when I click that button to open the sidebar and select a different inventory, it should automatically close the sidebar upon selecting a different inventory, but only if you have the Asset Manager resized small enough like this, to where the sidebar completely covers the assets list. Because currently I have to move my mouse all the way down again to click the button to close the sidebar.

This is currently what I have to go through:
- Move mouse down to click the “expand” button.
- Move mouse back up to select an inventory.
- Move mouse down again to click the “collapse” button.
- Move mouse back up to select filters.
One more thing, my username doesn’t fit when I resize the Asset Manager to be small enough to fit where the Toolbox used to be. Perhaps it could just be moved above the other buttons, if the Asset Manager is small enough.

When viewing “Places In Experience”, these filters should be automatically disabled, because they’re completely pointless here:

When I select my inventory and filter through my Models, then switch to “Places In Experience”, I have to manually reset all the filters, otherwise nothing will show up. Because, y’know, Places aren’t Models, and this section only displays Places.
One thing I never liked about the Toolbox is that, unlike every other tab, the “Plugins” tab didn’t let you insert your own created plugins - it only let you reinstall plugins that were already in your inventory. So in order to update my own plugins, I would often have to use assetdelivery to download the plugin as an .rbxm, so I could then open it in Studio, which is pretty bad UX. Could this please be added into the new Asset Manager? I just want to be able to quickly insert my plugin’s source just like inserting a Model.
