Changes to Player List Icons

Is this player list update to be able to have custom icons beside the name like you see with the Premium icon?

This seems really impractical and is also inefficient with use of space… The offset is very far left and the bars are incredibly thick. I feel like the intent when designing this was to make it look flashy but it comes at the cost of being super distracting.

New playerlist looks ridiculously large on my small monitor (resolution 1440 x 900). With the current size dimensions and offset from the upper-right corner (which make it look both huge and like it’s floating), the new UI is a significant eyesore and something that clashes with my existing UI.

While the look of the UI itself is definitely an improvement, the proportions of this new UI most definitely need to be adjusted. It is too invasive.

I think this would be a relatively minor change, but one that would have major advantages for gameplay. It looks nice, but I want to see my game too!

Screenshot from Jailbreak:

P.S. this is how it looks like in my small Play Solo window… way too much space taken up just to show a name. I will be disabling the playerlist UI until this is changed.

I like the new design but I feel like it’s too big and the offset is too large. It makes it quite hard to focus on the right side of the screen without having to hide it entirely. The animations for it are very nice though, and I really like how my name is bolded now instead of being yellow. All I feel that it needs is a little downscale.

Notice how the leader board takes up most of the right hand side of the screen. (Used Jailbreak as an example).

This should be aligned with the player name on the top-right corner…

I understand where Roblox was going with this, however I believe the way this was executed was horribly done and rushed, whenever playing a game (especially if you’re on a laptop) the play-list looks absolutely disgusting, due to it’s large size literally taking up 1/6 of my whole sceen, + the amount of un-necessary offset on the left, I’m hoping Roblox will take a look at our feedback and fix the issues with this!

Not to mention, this looks NOTHING like what was presented to us before (Refer to the main post)

I’m personally a big fan of the new update despite the large criticism. I believe the playerlist will receive better feedback if the other core UI (such as backpack, topbar, etc.) were changed to this modernized look.

I’m curious if this will have an API kind of like what chat has. An ability to customize size, possibly add options to player dropdown menus, etc. would be great!

Confused as to why the offset is so large and looks so distant from everything. Owning a larger monitor makes it look worse, especially on a 2560x1440 monitor

Also, don’t know if this was intended to make the scrollbar behind the team color bar but just looks a bit odd to look at

looks big and just floating randomly in the top right corner

The new improved player list is a lot better than the old one everyone is used too BUT, currently it is way too large and the limit to how many characters you can have if too small. In a game I am currently developing, the cash gets cut off after 5 characters “$50.00…”. This is difficult and annoying seeing as I use custom suffixes for cash (ex - 50T) and they just get gut off making it impossible for other players to see how much another player has.

The idea is nice, but I feel it’s floating off to much and just doesn’t have the same feel a lot pf people liked, it’s an amazing idea but with it cutting off and shortening things on it, it’s just to odd looking. Maybe it should have a few more controllable options that people can use. I myself am just displeased with the look of it besides the theme.

I like the overall design of the player list overhaul, but it doesn’t feel like it fits with the current UI. I feel like the rest of the UI looks smaller compared to the player list. Even the player buttons look massive, and the padding around the premium icon and the name is huge, and it feels oddly spaced compared to the rest of the UI.

Is the rest of the UI also being reworked to match the style of the player list?

I don’t really have an issue with how it looks, for the most part, but it has far too much padding (around player names, for instance), and is offset far too much from the corner, making it just stick out and take up unnecessary space.

It also breaks roleset names in the top right corner, not allowing for names as long as you were able to place in, under the old UI.

Please, revert this change until the UI has been properly optimised to not take up ridiculous amounts of space (on desktop/laptop devices), as it just seems too inefficient compared to the old UI.

We will be shipping a fix to an unnecessary text truncation bug tomorrow hopefully so this will increase the amount of text that can be displayed in the leaderstats.

Any updates on scaling down the size or solving the issue with the offset on the left? Or do guys have no plans to do this?

Will the rest of the UI match it? Since it looks really out of place at the moment. Or is there a way to get the old scoreboard back through SetCore or something?

The scrollbar is currently behind the team color due to technical limitations and will be changed in the future.

Not to mention that, why is it forced numbers into values such as 1.3M rather than 1,300,000. It’s harder for developers in game, to see quickly how much a player has in that value without making a custom script to check the exact value.

Most likely. A notable example is the in-game menu that could be getting reworked in the future.
