Click to visit ratio on advertisements & sponsored games

As a Roblox developer, it is currently hard to view how well an advertisement has done, through the player clicking the ad and then playing it.

This could be done in two ways:

  • when the player clicks the ad and then plays, it counts towards the click:visit ratio
  • the player has to play for x minutes until it counts towards the click:visit ratio

This is useful because it’s difficult to find out how many people actually play the game after clicking on it. Of course, they can click the ad and that’d add to the CTR, but what if they didn’t like the description or the game page didn’t seem very appealing? These results don’t help an awful lot, and thus having another statistic like the click:visit one would be very useful as a developer.

As game owners, developers, etc, we could find:

  • whether it was the advertisement that deterred players
  • game page/description
  • (if second option above is chosen), if players play long enough after clicking the ad. If not, the game may not be appealing to them

More information couldn’t hurt, and a deeper insight into the results of these ads and sponsored games would be much appreciated.
