Roblox is back online! Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.

In response to the outage during Halloween weekend, we have decided to extend our Halloween promotion for 7 days and will be creating a special Halloween sort on Roblox!

If your experience has an update that is spooky, scary, or celebrates the spirit of Halloween, and you would like to have your experience featured on the sort, please fill out this survey:

I like that they celebrate Halloween days later, even if the holiday is over!
With this, it made me even more want to work on the Halloween update of my game and be able to release it these days. Since I couldn’t finish it due to Roblox blackout.

Honestly depressing… 90% of these games are low quality simulators or already popular games… come on roblox. This sort is a legit disgrace, please put new games on next time…

Well the new sort and live and I’m not going to try and sugar coat it, I’m disappointed. Before anyone comes at me, the Roblox platform has full control over who gets on the sort and who does not and I respect their decision to go with the current games on the sort but a lot of these games already have tons of exposure from either being on other sorts or just naturally having a lot of players… and secondly, a lot of these games barely have Halloween content. Respectfully, how can you call this …

I feel like the staff didn’t even look at my game. I was a bit hesitant about the birthday option, since that could be a way for them to review less applications if the developer is very young, and I am young. When I saw that my game wasn’t on the new sort, I thought it could have been a few things, like a lack of localization or support for xbox. But I noticed that all the games on the sort were things like Spooky Simulator and Wormy. I’m starting to think that Roblox only did this for money,…

I didn’t apply, and I’m a bit late here, but did they even acknowledge the smaller games? The majority of the games on there have over 1k+ concurrent players and were already very well known. It’s unfair to these smaller developers, they get hope and a chance to get their game well known, and they most likely didn’t even have their game looked at, with the sort being filled with games that were already on the front page to begin with! The winter sort is now live, and I’m sadly disappointed. I waited to see if there were any new small games, and I only counted one game that had under 100 players the minute the sort went live. With all due respect some games do not meet the criteria, some games weren’t even updated until the sort was live which leads me to believe some developers may have been told beforehand/expected to update on the 17th. The survey specifically asked if your game would be releasing holiday content before the 17th. It also honestly doesn’t make sense to put these games on the front page in the winter sort when majority of them are already featured on it.

Once again, the holiday sort is a mess. Almost 60% of these games should have not been accepted due to the fact that they where not updated by the 16th. This is honestly sad. Actually its by the 16th they had to update. [sort1] [sort2] All the games circled should be removed from the sort and replaced with games that actually are willing to follow the rules.

The survey mentions “Does the experience contain any copyrighted material?”. Does this apply to other open-source assets on the toolbox? Or does that count towards people who uploaded the asset for their game to use explicitly?

If there is a scenario where someone were to use copyrighted material in the form of a free asset from the toolbox, but there was no way to tell because the asset was rarely used, would that count as non-applicable?

Does having any possible copyrighted content within the place diminish any possible opportunity to get into the sort?

I don’t think I’m going to apply this time around even though my game does have an event, because my game does use a lot of community uploaded audio tracks that could be copyright (although the original uploader should be held accountable for making that copyrighted material open-source).

Any clarification on these questions would be nice, guess my experience is going to need a lot of overhauling but that means I’ll just miss it.
