@beastoftheeast0 Heya! I have an inquiry regarding the expansion of verification eligibility.
In the future, will the following result in eligibility for verification?
Bloxy award / innovation award recipients
Former interns
Membership of certain devforum groups (community sage, top contributors, post approval)
Owners of achivement items (e.g. gamejam trophies)
Mainly asking, because the above often covers notable community members. E.g. it stands to reason that if someone owns a bloxy award or was a community sage, there’s a pretty high chance they’re known in the community, and by players.
I mean, 8 million hours seem a bit too overboard if I may say so myself. But I get your point.
I started developing in 2016, at least somewhere around that year, I’ve generally liked the community and people I have been with (except the dramas I’ve been a victim of for no reason). When I’ve heard about the Verification system, I’d slightly believed that I’d never get it, and I still don’t have it.
Unfortunately, changing your display name will remove the badge. We want users to be able to identify and recognize notable and authentic users, and part of that means keeping names the same to ensure users can find the users they’re looking for!
Right, but does the account ever re-enter the verification process? I changed my display name not long after the first wave of badges rolled out from something that was less relevant to my account. No sign of getting it back, which seems counterintuitive.
Totally understand your frustration here. The Verified Badge, in addition to highlighting notable creators, lets users know that you are who you say you are, and that there’s an actual person behind your account. We confirm this through ID Verification, as it’s the best way to guarantee the authenticity of an account!
We currently measure recent playtime activity (within the last couple of years) and require the account to have been active within the last 6 months. We’re investigating expanding the criteria further to include notable creators who are still active within the community, even if their experience is not as popular as it once was.
We appreciate everyone’s feedback so far! Keep it coming — while we don’t have a set-in-stone timeline, we’ll be working on updates to the program to make it more inclusive to creators from the Roblox community, so stay tuned!
I think I got missed by this wave of verifications, despite being an active contributor to a group that just was verified and both main devs of the group were verified as well. I was wondering if it was just a miss or if I somehow didn’t qualify. Thanks!
The whole point of being ID verified and verified on the platform in the first place is to verify that you are who you say you are. That is what I assume their reasoning to be.
