“Hot Right Now” is now live on Charts, globally, across mobile, tablet, desktop and web! This new sort offers a real-time view of the most popular experiences on Roblox based on concurrent users (CCU). This means increased visibility for your experiences and valuable data you can use to optimize engagement and retention.
Want to see your experience featured in “Hot Right Now”? Here are a few ways to boost your concurrent users:
Keep your content fresh with frequent updates tied to cultural and tentpole moments.
Is this a mistake or what? This has been a thing for a while now. Also it’s a duplicate of “Most Popular.”
This category has the same games every single day, nobody’s gonna use this.
Well I think that you would move “Today’s Picks” and the “Content Curation Banner” there if this was your true goal. Unless you don’t consider the games you manually promote “top-performing?”
It’s a decent update but calling it “Hot Right Now” doesn’t feel so good. When I first saw it I thought that it was just temporary trending stuff which would be very useful to constently push out new and engaging games on the platform. Maybe this feature should be renamed to “Popular Currently” and being in this Hot Right Now idea for this other idea. Still a good step in the right direction
i feel like so many sorts just have the exact same games on them, if anything doesn’t this hurt discoverability?
to add to this, can we stop promoting games that already have tens to hundreds of thousands of CCU on today’s picks? such a waste of a prime spot to promote newer games that would really help newer teams make a name for themselves on the platform. somehow i doubt there are not enough smaller games to pick 4 from each day.
I’m curious about what sets this apart. An update to the “Up-and-Coming” category would have been far more valuable, especially since it’s currently featuring games with anywhere from 10K to over 200K CCU - which I certainly wouldn’t consider “Up-and-Coming.”
Shifting the focus to smaller, newly released games with lower player counts but high ratings and strong session times would have been a fantastic improvement.
This is nearly the same as “Most Popular”. Not to mention the chances of this new category being filled to the brim with the same 10 games as all the other categories are astronomically high.
We need buttons to alter what is thrown our way, similar to the “don’t recommend this channel to me” or “not interested” buttons on YouTube and other platforms. If we decide to not have a game be shown to us, the next game in line should take the place of what we’ve hidden.
I’m sorry but I don’t see a point in this other than a way to make the content makeup of the Charts tab seem more improved upon than it actually is.
With “Hot Right Now,” I was also thinking that the sort should display games with high CCU changes proportional to its baseline CCU while also accounting for some threshold of CCU so that games that jump from 1 to 3 CCU don’t snipe the sort.
I guess it’s just another popularity sort. ¯\(ツ)/¯
