What’s this?

Might be your internet? Or it couldn’t load the “not authorized” page that Roblox created, so it loaded a default one.

I got a message from Roblox that I signed up for the Talent Hub list. However, those who are not registered in the list receive the 403 warning. Those on the list can already access the site, but I get a 404 warning.

Issue start date: It has been going on since the site was created.
Normally expected situation: Those registered in the list gain access to the site. Unregistered will get a 403 warning.

The link is the link in the original post. You can have a look if you want.

To clarify, our goal is that everyone who can currently post in #collaboration will be able to access the Talent Hub.

In the mean-time we may roll out the product to more users incrementally so we can iteratively fix issues and tweak the site to scale with the number of users.

Are there any plans to make a way to let users who are not currently devforum regulars to gain access? Right now there is currently no way to rank up on the forum so it feels unfair.

Just repeating above here:

To clarify, our goal is that everyone who can currently post in #collaboration will be able to access the Talent Hub.

As far as I understand, anyone who can reply to forum posts on the devforum can also post in #collaboration subcategories. So yes everyone on the forum with posting permissions will have access.

Well they can’t do that since kids lie about their ages.

I know, but that would be better than having to sacrifice your account’s protection.

Just a little announcement that we gave more Creators access this afternoon as we continue to scale! If you do not have access, but do have access to #collaboration, you can continue to see if you have access every few days as we carry on rolling out Open Beta.

I just got access and it looks amazing! Thank you for making the hiring/ finding work process so much easier! I do hope mobile support is added in the future but I realize this needed to go out asap. Do you guys have a timeline when mobile support will be added? I will say some of the functionally is a little clunky on desktop as well, but overall a nice addition.

Still waiting copium, it’s fine though since I’ll probably get access by August 15.

Right now, are you rolling out manually or automatically?

Thanks! Just got access today, it looks really good, however its absolutely terrible to use of you’re on mobile.

Everything is too big, you can’t scroll and a lot of things don’t fit on the screen.

They’re aware of it and have been telling people that there’s no mobile support for it yet. I suggest waiting for an update to the few bug reports that are related to mobile.

Since I can’t post I feature requests,

Please add GFX designer, along with something such as computer assisted artist to the list of job titles or something like sketcher or painter.

Hey! I’ve been lucky enough to get accepted into the recent batch above, and here’s some criticism I’d like to input from the getgo:

  • when searching for creators, it’s cumbersome quickly switching to the next creator from the current one you are looking at, as it requires you to go to the previous page, scroll back down, remember who your previous creator was, and go to the next one from there. Having “previous” & “next” would be super useful for the UX experience, as I’m personally not a major fan of having tons of tabs open, especially so when taking into account for memory usage and the like
  • It seems that either no developer embeds images, or there is no support for posting images - I am assuming this was intentional due to moderation concerns and the like, but it is very cumbersome having to go to the game links to see whether you are interested in a developer or not. A preview function that supports 3D view (something alike on Roblox’s marketplace) where you can inspect models, images and the like in detail would definitely be a huge boon.

Adding onto this, it was a bit of a short learning curve realizing that I could middle-click the profile picture of the users, but not the avatar themselves. Imo it would be nice to highlight either the profile picture a bit more, or let us middle/right-click the whole avatar.

I’m pretty ecstatic to have been invited to participate in the beta phase of the Talent Hub! So far it appears that it will be a huge improvement to people looking for others to work with.

What it doesn’t improve on, however, is portfolio. Developers, quite frankly, need the ability to showcase their projects in a decent range and perspective. I could see that the current project area did try to offer in this regard however there should be much more we can showcase.

For starters, past work being displayed by developers. The current project feature could be recycled to look like a library but I’ve thought of something far, far better. Slideshow integration. Users could use a slides program like Powerpoint or Google Slides that they could, perhaps, integrate on to their profile for a portfolio. I have wanted to integrate a slideshow in a much needed update to my forum portfolio for a while and I see a great opportunity within the Talent Hub for a feature specifically like this. If this feature wouldn’t be considered, I hope the engineers behind the site could find a good idea from it.

Other than what I’ve stated above, we need higher character limits. At least twice the amount that we’re limited to right now. I have filled out my profile and the character limits do seem reasonable in parts like the job position. But why should I be limited to only ## characters on my current project’s title? I initially put in a name that was too long even for my standard, then shortened it. In the end, my project name was still too long and I had to remove just one word to make the title fit. I understand that not every project has an adjectory name but give us some leniency on this!
