Considering the audio update, I don’t exactly intend to give them the benefit of the doubt with that.
Private audio still has a rate limit.

The phrasing here makes it seem as if only the corporate audio will have a music or effect differentiator and genre sorts. Is this the case? Will we be able to apply our own categorizations?
Secondly, the genre “Electronic” is far to broad. Electronic music could encompass digitally created orchestral music, simple chiptune, house tracks, etc. Perhaps provide more specific genre classifications?
That’s because audio is more tedious for them to approve.
I have one concern, does this mean that you can only import something like 10 meshes, decals etc. or uploading them to the roblox website, I just want clarification on this as im alittle confused.
The one change I really don’t like is that we appear to have lost the ability to change what colour the preview background image is. I used this heavily when searching for particle effects, because white particles don’t show up well on wite/grey/transparent backgrounds (so would switch to black). Losing that option is a huge step back in my view.
It’s only for making them public. You can upload them without a limit.
The ID verification requirements probably don’t affect you since you are most likely verified, but many developers cannot (or do not want to) submit their ID to Roblox. The verification process is definitely safe and transparent, but Roblox is requiring it for everything, which is irritating a lot of developers.
I’m fine with ID verification as long as there are other ways to get verified (although I highly doubt this will be the case)
I feel like this response along with a few similar ones were kinda unneeded to begin with, since it does come off as a little rude in terms of tone.
I understand that it’s tiring to see people complain repeatedly about every update Roblox adds in, but it doesn’t mean we should get annoyed at those types of people aswell.
If some developers feel the need to change platforms after everything that’s happened, then all we can really do is just respect that and hope that they’re successful afterwards.
After all, not every developer wants to stay on Roblox forever…some just choose to make their games on Steam or Unity and find greater success there.
If he plans on doing the same someday, then that’s perfectly fine.
We are talking about other assets than audio. Though yeah the audio thing is dumb and should have been handled like this update.
alr I just wanted to make sure because I was concerned about that
More trust comes from more time, and more time comes from more age.
Age should mean account age, not irl age.
You can create 100 accounts and leave them around for a certain period of time, while verified accounts can only have one ID associated with their account
Fair point, though there’s no reason premium shouldn’t be the verification requirement. Premium players just hand roblox money every month and they give us almost nothing in return.
What makes an asset “public” instead of “private?” Are assets public if uploaded from the Create tab and private if uploaded via the Asset Manager in Studio, or is there some other sort of distinction? Specifying how this works would help clear up confusion.
Agreed… great point, and that means more than real age imo.
Yeah, but it has its drawbacks, like @WooleyWool said you can have alts just exist while age racks up on them. Roblox should make it so that more of these features are premium benefits and not age verification locked, as they are receiving money from premium users. Another option is gauging how trustworthy a user is based on multiple metrics, like money spent on platform, robux earned,(premium?) place visits, recent activity, heck, even age verification, but not entirely reliant on age verification.
Correct, like trust level in this forum.
I love this update for a plethora of reasons, but per usual, I want to call out the limiting of expression here:
So, roblox, a platform with a majority <15 playerbase requires ID verification to allow children to upload more than 10 models per month. Is that not a little absurd? Imagine your kid cousin wants to develop and release models, but their parent will not give out their ID to a quite frankly, untrustable source.
How does that power creativity in any way? I get audios having a specific limit but this parity between each genre of uploadables makes no sense. Why not a system of flagging and limiting a user?
This is just collective punishment against legitimate users and creators exploring the platform versus expression.
I am not liking this ID Verification to unlock the platform model. This is not catering to your audience, nor is it actually keeping anyone safe.
