RigEdit - Create and edit animation rigs!

Awesome, I’ve been looking for something like this.

How would it determine what to mirror? I could see about implementing this if I can understand it better.

Also, thanks for all the support! Glad to see it isn’t helping me alone

Something similar to Blender’s mirror modifier
You’d basically have to do only one side, the other side will be mirrored automatically.

Still not entirely sure how this would be accomplished; thanks for suggestion though, I’ll see if I can make the movement easier to use such that you could accomplish something like this with the basic tools.

A paid upgrade of this plugin with new features is now available on the marketplace here: https://www.roblox.com/library/4486409103/RigEdit-Plus

Some upgrades in the paid version are:

  • Undo/Redo support
  • Weld editing
  • Toggle visibility and editing for Joints/Welds

This plugin is pretty great! Way better than Custom Character Creator (which appartently doesen’t exist anymore???) in my opinion. However i don’t feel like the Plus version is worth it. Still a really neat plugin!

EDIT: CCC is offsale actually

I just want you to know that though I have bought the paid version, I do not intend to use it.

I will forever use an un-updated version of the lite rig editor.
Just wanted to get that off my chest.

Good for the soul.

Edit:
I caved in and ended up using the paid version
has some useful features
would definitely recommend

Random question by chance can this be updated instead of using just Welds can you make it so it uses WeldConstraints?

WeldConstraints don’t need offset properties, so you don’t need this plugin for them.

Ahh, okay makes sense now, I hate to be picky by chance are you able to add it as an option?

Hey, this might be an odd request but could you add support for rotating motor6ds?

The lite plugin does not seem to be doing anything. No menus or options show up when it is selected

Apparently you had to select a model or tool first, the plugin warns you if you don’t select anything:

By chance can you make it so we can change / customize the circle that represents the motor6d?

@Arch_Mage is there a way to stop it from locking and have more of a ‘free movement’? Or is that in the paid version?

The paid version is broken now, can’t edit joint placement. I have to use the lite version

can you add a snap to other joints feature??

You can set the increment to 0 to allow for free movement.

If you could supply me with any errors it would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you’re up to it, you could send me the rig you’re working on for me to take a look at it.

Could you explain exactly what you mean by this?

What are the differences between free and paid?
