But like, I could have most buttons on one custom tab which would be fast cause I could get used it and I would know the button will always be in that spot, muscle memory is fast. With the new UI I have to search for the correct tab and then find and click the button, slower…
I am not sure how to feel, on one hand they don’t want us to place too much buttons on one tab, which would make it look messy. But at the same time it would take longer to search for things.
Yes this is exactly what I was thinking. I guess just accept your fate bcs Roblox can’t listen to all of our requests for some reason. I think it has to do with… money.
the next gen studio is much harder to use than the default one and I can’t figure our where anything is whereas the other one is far more straight forward with it being similar to other applications. I’m not sure why roblox is working on making studio ui work better instead of creating more cool stuff for devs to use
Is it just me or does the new UI feel less… Snappier than the old one? It feels like the visual feedback it gives for clicking buttons and hovering over menus and whatnot is less intuitive and more clunky than the old one. Maybe I’m misremembering though.
how do I turn this off how do I turn this off how do I turn this off
for the love of god please I cannot do anything right now I just restarted it and now it looks like this please help
EDIT: oh thank god I just checked the beta features and for some reason IT WAS ENABLED??? WHO DID THAT???
also NOTE: I will literally not even use studio ever again if they force this on me I. AM. NOT. USING. THIS!
I like the new UI visually but from a practically stand point it is highly unoptimized and not ready for launch still
hovering over anything and opening a drop down menu leaves the hover text on screen
theres a slight delay that is heavily noticeable when clicking on any of the buttons
and feels similar to how the new explorer does where going into studio testing really shows how it chugs performance wise
honestly I would love if this was always just an option to have for those who like the faster less sleek and clean old ui since studio shouldn’t really be visually appealing in my eyes and at most should just always work
I don’t like this UI, I think the previous UI is way more better than this. The spacings and gaps are too much, and the locations of buttons and everything else is just so confusing. I think the old UI is already have a good and healthy design. Please make this toggleable so it can be beneficial for everyone.
For now, you’ll have to duplicate the Home or Model tab and edit the copy from there. We have not yet added the ability to add these to new, empty tabs but it’s a known issue we plan to resolve.
There’s so much unused space just above!
I also have the ribbon undocked for more workspace visibility (and also because it’s what I’m used to) - why does it automatically dock every time I restart studio?
Also, I don’t know how but I managed to do this
This does certainly seem like an upgrade from the original UI, but there’s too many issues with it that make it more of an inconvenience. Infact, as I’m typing, the ribbon is sitting in my Firefox window.
for repro steps you just hover over the ribbon, making it show up, and then open any settings that would show a pop up window (studio settings / game settings)
the ribbon will stay stuck and overlay ontop of the desktop environment
to be honest, this makes things less convinient as i knew where everything was but now my brain, and may others, have to remap itself to work with this ui where not everything is there
