Not able to select parts on roblox studio

For days now, I seem to have a problem and not being able to select parts on roblox studio. This seems to happen only with 1 place, if I open my studio to any other place I am able to select parts.

I have read multiple devforum threads and non of those that I read worked and my parts are not locked as well. If I want to select them I have to drag click. It has been like this for some days now with no success with me fixing this issue and it’s preventing me from updating the game since it gets harder to do so. Does anyone here know why this could be happening?

I’m guessing that maybe one of the Parts in those models is Locked and that might be the one you are clicking on, but when you drag select it selects the entire model.

Are you holding Alt while clicking to select just the item under the mouse icon?

If these don’t help you can always try the old ‘uninstall/reinstall Studio’ trick.

I was not holding alt or even if I hold alt it does not work. There is also no locked parts on the models, I can not select anything in the workspace.

Yep, I actually read that thread, it did not work for me sadly. He mentions about copying everything and then pasting them again? Or maybe moving them to a different place? The copying and pasting did not work and if he means to move them to another working place it is not ideal for me since the game is already public and it has already gained some popularity.

You know it happened to me once and it fixed itself shortly after… i fear you might have to report a bug, probably best way to resolve this quickly.

It has been 3 days for me, I tried to go to the devforum bugs category but I actually do not have permission to post there?

Nope it doesn’t, I did try that :sweat_smile: . I also tried to close team create and do the same but nothing changed.

Go to your plugins and select and deselect each one to make sure nothing is unknowingly open in the background… these instances stay open even when you close a session and reopen it.

I did try it, didn’t work. Should I ask my team to do the same? Since team create is on, also some plugin icons are not even visible + if I uninstall them would they automatically close themselves?

Yes have them do the same… also, you dont need to uninstall, you can just disable it through the plugin manager for the time being, and re-enable it if it doesnt fix the issue.

Yes, but even though other people have been having issues with this it may be a simple glitch with your Studio itself.
Since you are using TeamCreate why don’t you ask if your friends are having the issue too.
If they are then it’s a place issue, if not it’s with your Studio.

Again,uninstalling and reinstalling Studio may fix it.

Everyone in team create is not able to select, so unistalling and installing again roblox studio i don’t think it will fix it. And yea, it is a place issue since I can select parts on other places but that’s my issue , I want to fix this issue to be able to select on that place.

Seems like it did not work . I asked them to disable their plugins but we still could not select anything.

I wasn’t able to see in the video you provided, but try doing what the solution of the following topic says to do. It involves CollisionGroupId.

Have you all tried to log out of studio and log back in? All of you?

I also saw this solution elsewhere but he cant select anything not just one model… but worth a try i guess, cant hurt.
