Hello, we have a few more updates to the PlayerList.
If you have edit access to a game, you will now have the developer icon appear next to your name in the PlayerList Leaderboards. This is a nice update for developers with group games. Thanks to TheGamer101 for this change!
We no longer show follow status. We did this to reduce the network calls that are made as we are seeing record highs in the number of concurrent players on the platform. We are not sure when/if we will re-enable this functionality.
We are still looking at additional improvements we can make going forward, including mobile support.
Mobile is a design challenge due to The limited screen size, especially in portrait mode. We are working on a design for this. Agree we need to bring this feature to mobile phones.
Love the new hammer icon addition, but it’s causing me some issues…
My alt has game editing access for the sole purpose of using the dev console. I play on it when I just want to play my game normally, without being noticed by others. Now that the hammer appears for ALL developers, I have to sacrifice the dev console in order to just play normally again.
I’d suggest adding who gets the hammer based on a group role or individual users.
Get another alt, I don’t think they’d change the way it works just because you want to not be noticed. lol.
All members in team create are developers. So not having the hammer symbol wouldn’t be right.
+1 to this. I’d like to be able to view the Server Logs without getting noticed in game. A role that can view the logs but doesn’t have the Creator icon would be great. A way to turn off the Creator icon completely would be even better.
I think even mobile users wouldn’t mind giving up a single leaderboard row if it means they can consistently see their own stats at the top. Roblox design decisions seem to try to find a balance between being global but also a powerful platform.
I think that would become too distracting in popular games which use the standard CoreGUIs - reinstating some kind of row at the top for displaying a user’s own statistics would be a far more efficient method of making them clearer.
Yeah no, I’m not liking this leaderboard. Sure, it’s an attempt to modernize it, but factors like the leaderboard’s size and the space between the names are ridiculous and make the leaderboard a downgrade almost.
I have an idea, maybe add the ability to give certain users custom or predefined player list tags for things such as being staff or having a position in a cafe
Recently the size of usernames was changed to scale to the length of a username instead of being truncated. My personal belief is that I think that it should do this generally, but if it the text’s size small (like nerdybutdeadly56598) it should start truncating it.
I agree, and that’s why I said it should truncate it after a certain size to keep the size bigger, I don’t think it’s too small in most cases which is why I welcome this change.
