Hello cryptic,

We understand that curious minds like to know what is going on on their machine. We also understand that it is frustrating when folks are punished for their curiosity. After all, many brilliant engineers who work for Roblox now started out by learning how certain games do the things they are doing.

The issue arises when it is taken too far. For example, selling cheats to a large number of our userbase, which leads to entire experiences being abandoned or even shut down. We have no way of distinguishing between curious minds and malicious entities, and as a result, we have to use broad strokes. As the saying goes, this is why we can’t have nice things.

Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, the file linked to is a log file and not a crash dump. If you do experience a crash, please follow Strategy Three outlined in this post and forward the resulting crash dump to us.

My Roblox Game Launcher is also broken for me. I press “Play” on a game, and it registers that I requested to play the game and never launched the launcher. It is the same problem that everyone else is getting. It can’t be the Windows Insider Builds because the launcher worked fine a few months ago. Now it has been over a full month since my Roblox Launcher has worked.

@axtrct It’s binary, you cannot read it with a text editor. You will have to use a dedicated crash log analyzer.

I have a system running Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2015, and when I open the Roblox player, it shows “Your Windows system is too outdated. Please run ‘Windows Update’ and install system updates to continue.” I’m using an older PC that can’t handle a newer Windows version or a more recent LTSB because of a lot of blue screen errors and slow performance.

What I’ve tried

  1. Reinstalling Roblox
  2. Checked Windows update
  3. Reinstalling and updating drivers
  4. Upgrade to LTSB 2016 and 2021 - didn’t work, encountered a blue screen error in all versions

Depending on how much information is available in the log file, it might be useful.

I should have told you to check out Strategy three as it is more likely to help the engineers solve your issue, try and replicate the crash and send the crash dump in a Private Message to @Bitdancer

Seems like that version of Windows 10 has reached it’s End of Mainstream support and is currently on Extended support (Windows 10 2015 LTSB - Microsoft Lifecycle | Microsoft Learn)
Roblox may no longer support this version of Windows 10 anymore

You might not be able to use Enterprise anymore, consider moving to Windows 10 Home edition if you can

Your hardware should be able to handle newer Home versions, I saw you have not mentioned any sort of GPU in your PC specs, are you using a integrated GPU?

Looks like a issue with the bootstrapper, uninstall Roblox entirely and reinstall, make sure you get a fresh copy of the bootstrapper from this prompt:

I’m confused about that because according to the Roblox website, Windows 7/8.1/10 is supported, however, Windows 7 and 8.1 support is gone and Windows 10 2015 LTSB has extended support until Oct 14 2025

That support page is outdated last time I checked, best to see what @Bitdancer thinks about it since I don’t know the exact criteria for that message to be triggered

I switched my hard drive and did a clean install of Windows 10 Home (Version 22H2) to see if the same blue screen behavior would happen and it did. The blue screen error is “KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED” and I’ve searched on the web how to solve it but none of the solutions worked. This error happens every 5-15 minutes with Windows 10 LTSB 2016 (1607), LTSC 2021 (21H2) and Home (22H2)

Yes, I have done it already. However, when I did the next reboot, it blue screens and boot loops every few minutes, I’ve also checked Windows update for any driver update but Windows update drivers also have the same issue.

@bitdancer i hope you could make a document or something cause i saw many people that had this problem and they did not have any malicious stuff in the background.

Many of them dont have access to the devforum, so i would hope you would make one.

Also, one of them had this error “Unapproved third party applications or extensions deteected. Please uninstall this third party software and re-run roblox”

thats how you can tell that its not a driver issue (i believe atleast haha)

I understand that this would be a huge help for folks who are facing issues through no fault of their own. We actually discussed this internally before we released Hyperion on Windows Desktop. We concluded that a detailed document would reveal too many of our tricks, so we opted not to provide such a document.
