From 2018 until 2022, the majority of forum users used the #collaboration category with the function of hiring each other or simply showcasing their portfolios to show professionalism regarding their projects within the Roblox platform. Until then, communications were usually between third-party social media like X (formerly known as “Twitter”), Discord, etc. However, this “product” within the Developer Forum was replaced by one of the biggest projects by the Creator Services Team from Creator Hub, “Talent Hub”.
Talent Hub is one of the parts of Creator Hub and is integrated within create.roblox.com and has the goal for developers and creators to recruit and share their work for others to see within their page, just like LinkedIn. With that being said, the sunset of the collaboration category appeared and it was announced by the Roblox employee Jed (@/peraldon) that would be “deleted”.
Ever since the topic regarding closing the category, this brought many discussions regarding how it should have been stayed still as optional instead of mainly, mandatorily on Talent Hub. Likewise, it was closed and, over the years, it was discussed within #development-discussion which one is better when it comes to professionalism, safety, ensure fast communication. The debates could continue for years.

As a plot twist, something unexpected happened… The feedback and the proposal for its return were fully acknowledged and the #collaboration category was finally reopened after 2 years.
However, despite the giant plot, whenever you start creating the topic for the category, whether it is within #collaboration:recruitment or #collaboration:portfolios, the message stating that would be locked is outdated.
As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to unsee this statement because it shows that it will be locked until October 1st, 2024, which is misinformation as it is open to everyone once again.
Upon the result, the viable solution would be to update the information and, objectively, share the latest news regarding the category.
If Roblox is able to address this issue, it would improve my experience using the forum because not only it would be an updated accuracy, but it would also help creators and developers to understand that you don’t need to post topics or portfolios within categories that are for development discussion (#development-discussion) or feedback/assistance (#help-and-feedback).
Thank you!
