Hey Developers,
Earlier today, we put up a post that was meant to help our creators understand their responsibilities under the DMCA (the Digital Millennium Copyright Act). The DMCA is a law that applies to many UGC platforms in the industry (e.g., YouTube, Facebook, Roblox, etc.). The rules (as they apply to Roblox) are in our Terms of Use.
We realize that this post should have contained more information on our removal process. We will post an updated communication early next week that will provide information on the new process we will provide to help you comply with DMCA.
Please keep in mind that Roblox regularly processes DMCA takedown requests from IP owners and as required by law, has an account penalty process in place that’s used to counter repeat offenders. Until we roll out the updated process, if there are any assets that you uploaded that you wish to remove, we will help you remove these from the platform. Please follow these instructions:
You can browse through the Create page to identify content you have uploaded. You can also use the Library tab to search for content you have uploaded by “Creator” name. If you previously uploaded content which you wish to take down, you can use the archive feature to remove this content.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation and apologize for any confusion the previous article may have caused.
Best,
Roblox Developer Relations
