Update to Roblox Groups

I took my like away from the post and added it to yours so I can see you Ratio Roblox for their poor judgement in not adding this feature long before.

I don’t know why they are so obsessed with removing useful things and providing zero GOOD/NEW alternatives

Definitely Roblox stop removing features that sets users apart from their potential friends

You are correct. Roblox needs to do something good for once.

Controversy? Embarrassed by their past?
Its better to stop losing money than necessarily making money?

Please consider this decade-long feature request alongside your groups refresh:

As community and roleplay group developers, our experiences are often based around group membership and group roles. If a new player joins our game and wants to participate, they often have to join a group to access or participate in a relevant way within the experience.

After a decade or, we still have to tell our players to leave our game, join a roblox group on the website or app, and then rejoin the game. As you can expect, this is an unnecessary friction point for player onboarding and can often lose us the recurring user.

I can see where this is going, but I don’t think the whole restriction for only users up to 13+ will really fix much of the problems with the group walls. Moderating the group walls will still be a problem even with restricting access to only older users.

Make your own feedback GUI in-game and have it send any submitted responses to a discord hook in your discord server for player feedback.

Since you’re finally updating groups to a more useful and modern framework, which i fully support, it would be splendid if you used this opportunity to address the spamming and copypastas and scams that make up for 99.9% of all wall posts. Here are my suggestions for how we can address this:

  • Ability to ban users from groups, preventing them from simply rejoining after exile
  • Adding an opt-in feature of requiring moderator(group owners) approval before the submitted post actually appears on the wall the way we see on facebook communities and reddit etc
  • Removing wall posts all together, and leaving just the group announcements that we have now, realistically its pointless, it needs to become a proper forum like on reddit or just do away with it completely, the way it is now, even if fixed, nobody will really use it

Sums it up pretty much from one of my members.
What a brilliant update, slashing tight communities apart.
Roblox’s incompetent moderation results in everyone else suffering.

Oooh yes very cool. Looking forward to this and the many useful features to come on the platform.

My friend is unable to see in his group wall, which results in less communication with people who are in the group, and/or like the games that are currently in development.

Screenshot in his end:

Just because they’re under 13 doesn’t mean they don’t have good ideas or that their ability to be heard should be removed. If there are problems in the groups it should be the responsibility of the group owners. I feel bad younger players can no longer have a voice in how their favorite games are improved and developed. This almost seems cruel. You’re taking away their voice.

They already removed messages, now group wall.

Their voice … most I see is spam & unrelated stuff … “I was 1st” or “what the person said above/below me” (replying to other spam).

I agree they should have a voice - but spam should be deleted.
Repeats should be blocked/banned.

I personally think Roblox is heading somewhere - they won’t sabotage their income.
I will give them time - use work-arounds.

Besides - it’s lazy Devs that don’t have an in-game bug reporting system.
Can’t blame Roblox for that.

Right. As the group owner you need to moderate the group. Maybe make it up to group owners if they want the younger set on the wall. I don’t have a wildly successful game so that’s probably why I don’t have to deal with spam, but I do have a very devoted group and want them all to be able to participate. Ty for your response

These are interesting and very cool changes and updates! It’s great that Roblox is updating groups and making them better!

This is the worst part :pensive:
Roblox, please do a little thinking about this.

I’m looking forward to these new features! It would be cool if we also got some more settings or maybe an option to ban certain words on the group wall (or later forums) to limit the number of scams like this which I find myself often clearing whenever I look at my group:

Still a cool update though and I’m looking forward to trying it out.

I understand the concern for 13< users, but I want my Roblox Group to serve as a communication space for everyone, not just 13 and up, and this ruins that.

Also, I think Groups could wait: Moderation and Filtering urgently need fixing.

Innocent users are being punished every day while obvious offenders are roaming free. People are still bypassing extremely explicit words, while non-specific words like “drink” are turning entire conversations into hashtags.
