[Early Access] Server Authority
- We’re opening up Server Authority through our new Early Access release program. Simply respond to this post, and we’ll get you added.
Build More Immersive Experiences: Text-to-Speech API Full Release
- We’re excited to announce the full release of our
Text-to-SpeechAPI! This updated version has higher rate limits and observability dashboards. Text-to-Speechenables you to instantly create narration and NPC dialogue for step-by-step tutorials or game announcements, allowing you to launch voice-enabled experiences rapidly and without traditional production costs or complex audio production workflows.
[Potential Action Required] Update for HumanoidDescription APIs
- We are changing the default behavior for
Humanoid:ApplyDescriptionandPlayers:CreateHumanoidModelFromDescriptionto automatically enable server-side checks on avatar assets. - This change will prevent potential security vulnerabilities that may negatively impact your experience. For most experiences, especially ones that only use these APIs to load Avatar Assets (e.g. shirts, pants, accessories), no action will be required from you.
[Potential Action Required] An Update to Memory Tracking: Introducing MemoryTrackingEnabled API
- We are disabling memory tracking by default for most users to improve performance and introducing the
MemoryTrackingEnabledAPI so you can check if memory usage data is available before calling related APIs. - The changes will be rolled out in 3 phases over the next month for the memory tracking of android devices. In preparation, please update your code to use this new API if you are collecting custom telemetry data.
- If you explicitly enable the MicroProfiler, memory tracking will be enabled automatically for your next application session. This will allow you to see memory counters in both the MicroProfiler and DevConsole.
Updates
Avatar Auto-Setup Now Supports User-Guided Setups of Body and/or Clothing Only
- You can control the placement of joints by providing 15 pre-partitioned body mesh parts that follow R15 character naming convention.
- Partitioned bodies can be used in conjunction with other inputs, such as rigged bodies and heads.
