Weekly Recap: September 15 - 19, 2025

Hi Everyone!

Another week in the books, and it was prettttty packed! Take a look to see if you missed anything :eye: :eye:

Remember - we keep information at a high level within these recaps. For more information or to leave feedback, please comment on their official announcements linked below.

RDC25

RDC 25: Builderman Q&A and Safety Q&A

  • We’ve heard your feedback on wanting to know what was asked and discussed during both the Builderman Q&A and our Safety Q&A at RDC25. In the spirit of transparency, the transcripts are available for you to download.

Tests

[Upcoming Tests] Sponsored Experiences to appear within Recommended for You on Home

  • We’re running an experiment where a small number of users will see Sponsored Experience ads within their Recommended for You sorts on Home.
  • Sponsored Experience tiles will be marked clearly as “sponsored” (see below), and these users will not see a separate Sponsored Sort.

Announcements

Performance Improvements for Player Stats and Ordering Updates

  • We have optimized the PlayerList’s state management to eliminate inefficient React re-renders.
  • Now, it isolates these operations to ensure only the directly affected components update, resulting in a significant boost to in-experience performance and responsiveness, especially during high-activity moments.

Loading Third-Party Model Assets In-Experience

  • For many years, InsertService:LoadAsset(assetId) allowed loading Model assets into an experience as long as they were in your Inventory or the asset creator explicitly granted you permission.
  • We’ve added a Game Setting, Security > Allow Loading Third Party Assets, disabled by default. We’ve also added AssetService:LoadAssetAsync(id), which will eventually replace InsertService.LoadAsset(id).

[Full Release] You can now publish Haptic Effects in your experience!

  • We have fully released Haptics Effects for your use in both Studio and client! This includes our predefined enum-based haptic effects, customizable waveform effects, and integrated Gui haptics. With our recent fix for Android, haptics should now work across all clients when published.

Introducing Server Management

  • We’re launching a new page in Creator Hub called Server Management that displays real-time stats about servers and players in each of your Places for an experience.
  • You can select which Places to restart, configure options for the restarts, and see a forecast of impact before initiating the process

Voice Chat (VoiceChatService) is Coming to Consoles

  • We are rolling out Voice Chat on PlayStation and will bring it to Xbox consoles in the coming months!
  • If you are already using VoiceChatService, then Voice Chat just works on consoles once players enable it, and they can start communicating with others across devices, providing a more unified user experience.

Introducing “Try It Out” for Cloud endpoints on Creator Hub

  • The “Try It Out” functionality empowers creators to interact with Cloud endpoints in real-time, providing a practical understanding of how these endpoints behave
  • Previously, creators could access comprehensive information regarding Cloud endpoints within the Creator Hub. However, there was no way to send and view sample requests directly within the documentation.
  • “Try It Out” addresses that gap, bringing a popular aspect of our existing legacy API sites directly into our more current documentation site.

Roblox Learn

Studio comments

  • Short and sweet, this video covers how to use comments in Roblox Studio to collaborate with your team or just jot down your thoughts.

I am so happy to see that we finally have a solid week of pretty good updates!

——

:sparkles: My rating: 64/70

My favorite update this week was server management to see what servers are outdated.

But I don’t like how crowded the home page is getting. Makes it hard to navigate it from a developer and casual player standpoint. Please make a discover page.

——

Topics I feel should be mentioned:

  1. Add more badge info
  2. Add moon ray lighting effect
  3. Add resamplemode for textures and materials
  4. Make clip descendants work on rotated elements

——

See you next week, Robloxians!

With the adding of voice chat to consoles, can we potentially have more variability with it like having a proximity chat, but also server/team wide while holding down a button for more immersive FPS games.
