I’m surprised no one has mentioned Compatibility Mode yet.
Compatibility mode does nothing for me, already tried
Try running Roblox on the Desktop version, so it may also fix issue.
This is happening for me. Brand new laptop. Tried downloading, got white screen. Uninstalled, reinstalled, same thing. Tried restarting. Tried opening game from website, tried opening for Player app. Can’t seem to find a fix
Unsure if it’s to do with GFX card? Studio seems to work with no issues.
Did you ever find a fix for this? I’m still having issues. Re installed several times, deleted caches, set compatability modes, I can’t think of anything else atm to fix this.
get Bloxstrap - An open-source, feature-packed alternative bootstrapper for Roblox
and try switching ur channel to Zintegration in it
Hate to tell you, but I don’t think that’ll help with fixing this.
Feel the need to continuously bump this to a response/fix is made. Spent a lot of money on a brand new laptop, I expect to be able to play Roblox on it, unsure why this hasn’t been marked as critical personally. Might write up my own bug report sometime next week with critical tag in hopes this serious bug is taken serious
I’m sure that less than 1% of users experience this issue, otherwise this bug report would definitely have roblox critical in the title. But if you’re having bugs, the problem likely lies within the fact that many OEMs ship with Windows 11 (not a very stable OS) and weird software and drivers.
You can ask OP to mark the title as roblox critical, and many more staff will notice it.
I decided to just write my own bug report. Bumping old bugs doesn’t seem to get any attention on the issue. Added Critical tag to mine to hopefully they actually look and take it seriously.
I’ve gotten a few bug reports noticed by bumping them, but for the most part they are ignored.
I don’t think so. It’s a tag that only certain people can post on the forum. Maybe you can?
It is, specifically, “roblox critical” with no space.
Either way, I just trying to get their attention, cause to me this is serious issue atm. Not being able to play Roblox at all is a huge problem that needs addressing
Please allow some time for our teams to respond (this was last significantly bumped on Thursday and there has only really been 1 business day since then; note I’m technically writing this on my day off (Sunday)). I’ll double-check that someone saw your post during business hours.
Just so you’re aware, adding a critical tag to your title achieves nothing, will not lead to any automatic escalation anymore. It hasn’t for over 5 years probably. This clutters your title so it’s best avoided. Criticality is determined from content of your post and how many people engage with it.
So for readability sake, please avoid using such tags in your titles going forward!
I mean, the last Roblox staff to comment was June 30th, close to 2 months ago… numerous people have been commenting since then with no further word, and this has been around since May. I’m lucky this is only new for me cause I only just brought my laptop, but I’d be pissed if I’d have to be waiting several months for a fix to be rolled out on such a critical bug
I understand how annoying this issue is, but it is also tricky, it is almost impossible to reproduce internally and we investigate based on pieces of information shared with us.
If you experience this issue and can share your logs if will help us with investigation, yet at this moment we do not have enough clarity on what causes this issue and a timeline for the fix.
Where can I locate the the specific logs you’d need to see? And do they need to be messaged privately?
I have the same problem: when I open Roblox Player (from browser) it shows a white screen instead of loading and then, after some time, it says “An unexpected error has occoured and Roblox needs to quit”.
My specs:
DELL OptiPlex 7090 UFF
Intel Core i7-1185G7
Intel iGPU Iris Xe
16 GB RAM
Windows 11 Pro build 25936
I already tried contacting support and they said that my request has been sent to superiors, but I got no news since then.
I’m now asking Roblox Support to please try launching Roblox Player with a 11th(+) gen Intel processor and Windows 11.
This is bad. I can’t even use Roblox on Linux since they removed support to it, so my only one choice is to use MS Store version, which crashes when it wants to.
Thank you in advance.
P.S: Studio works fine and perfectly.
I tried:
- using more local accounts
- changing graphics in Studio
- uninstalling and clearing AppData
- different browsers
- VPN
- restore points (which has no sense but one of the emails Roblox Support sent me said to do this LoL)
- disk cleanup
- compatibility mode
EDIT: I also tried
- clearing browser cache AND cookies (which has NO SENSE because as I said the bug persists even if I open manually Roblox Player)
- disabling antimalware, firewall, adding exceptions, changing antimalware, …
- clearing Local and Temp AppData
I think it’s a graphics bug
BTW I think you, Roblox staff, should change the crash screen from: “An unexpected error has occoured…” to: “Roblox Crash. Reason: …”
That would be easier for you to fix bugs and for us to understand.
Windows 11 is not the issue, only weird OEM bloat
