I don’t wanna be that one guy, but is no one gonna talk about the elephant in the room?
They left in button…
I do like the design but feel this was released a bit to early. As we see with some of the design and functional problems.
Linking this thread here so it’s more visible in context. The new player list is way too big.
It’s also kind of strange how its background opacity is different from the top bar’s opacity.
This ain’t it chief.
Even for my 1440p monitor, this UI be chonky. It looks nice, don’t get me wrong, but there’s so much negative space!
May I suggest making the UI a bit smaller to take up less screen real estate, like this?
I feel like the size of the leaderboard is too big. Plus the offset feels a bit disorienting to look at. Otherwise, I like where this is going.
I agree, I really don’t like this. It takes up a lot of space, its overly large, it’s too far from the edge of the screen, and there are large gaps inbetween the names. The colour of black and transparency don’t match the rest of the UI.
I REALLY liked the old design because it just made sense and it looked really pretty and it displayed information in a neat and tidy way, I was also a fan of the transparent gaps inbetween different pieces of data. This looks pretty generic even if it has all this bouncy fanciness to it.
I think this should have been tested for beta users prior to being released.
In addition, the whole ‘examine avatar’ thing is honestly not important or useful at all. Roblox has toyed with this before back when terrain was first added by letting you click a player to see their inventory and a bunch of menu options. In the end it was really a useless update that later got removed.
To quote the truth, “If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it”.
As with everyone else, my main issue with this new leaderboard is that the gui is way too big. The gui, in my opinion, should also be aligning with the top bar and on the right side of the screen. Otherwise, it just takes up too much space on the screen.
There was always an option to examine an avatar before the leaderboard overhaul was released. There was a “View” button when you click on someone’s name in the player list which examines the avatar. Also, the feature is pretty useful, since if players buy any item they see when viewing them, you get 10% of the robux back.
So if somebody buys any piece of clothing that I am wearing, through the leaderboard vieew thing, I get 10% of the robux from the purchase?
I think the design is nice. It’s very modern and simple.
That being said - this was a terrible execution. The UI is way too big and is offset like crazy! There’s an extra “Button” still left on the UI. The UI seems more like a pop-up than a helpful menu. I block pop-ups. There’s just so much empty space and the menu seems like it will get in the way a lot.
It also doesn’t fit in with the surrounding UI elements. That topbar is still transparent and still looks more like the other roblox menus. The topbar isn’t the same design as the new player list. While it definitely shows the type of UI Roblox is slowly moving towards, this should’ve been released at the same time as a major UI rework.
Overall thoughts: I love it - but you really have to execute it better and not rush to release this.
Can you PLEASE add an option to reduce the size. It is extremely overly huge. Also readd the option where players can see their own stats at the top. Now I have to find my name in the list and if I close it I can’t see any of my personal stats.
The new player list looks HUGE. Sending a friend request takes up way too much space then it should. Feels like something that would be on mobile rather then desktop.
My opinion: Wrong time, literally wrong place as its quite far from the actual side of the screen, too large, feels kinda sluggish compared to the main post update. Also theres a lot of extra space. I think the solution is temporary revert, as there seems to be later CoreGui updates. Should be released one at a time. Otherwise I think a UI revamp would be epic.
I agree; the older leaderboard was smaller, and, call me a bit old, but I dislike the new modern design of the leaderboard. Plus, it’s way too big in my opinion, and some c h o n k can be cut off of the final result.
The recently updated leaderboard is way too large. Honestly, my eyes immediately go to it when I join a game now, and are constantly distracted by it.
It should be smaller in my opinion, stand out a bit less.
However, I do like the new icons now and I appreciate that your name isn’t yellow anymore, it’s bolded.
I am also not a huge fan of the large offset from the corner of the screen.
Also, players with smaller screens are losing a huge chunk of space to this new leaderboard.
Overall, size seems to be a huge issue right now.
I agree; It just doesn’t look clean when disconnected from the top bar.
Completely agree with this! This is an amazing idea for what needs to be changed, the bulky UI right now does not fit and just takes up too much space.
The player list is already big and has a lot of unnecessary padding, but when a game has leaderstats the player list is absurdly big.
I tried playing Base Wars and the player list took up around a fifth of the width of my monitor (which is 2560x1600).
Here’s an example screenshot (1920x1080) of what the player list looks like with four leaderstats (the maximum):
With a lot of players in the game, the player list also takes up a lot of vertical space, so do mind that the above screenshot only represents how wide the player list gets.
If the player list is to remain like this, I hope that at the very least an option in the Escape menu to scale it gets added.
Another issue I have seen is that labels on the player list are truncated if they are too long, which could be a problem for some.
