Game Quest Challenge 2021 - Opening & Updates

Hello developers,

We are only 1 hour away from the starting line and are very excited to see the results of this Game Quest Challenge event! If you missed the first announcement, or need a refresher on the rules, here’s a link to the Announcement Post.

All Challenges and updates will be posted on this thread, so if you’d like to receive updates about the challenge, be sure to follow this thread!

This challenge will not only test your skills as a developer, but there will also be fascinating anecdotes and the opportunity of telling your own story throughout this journey that is about to begin.

There will be a total of 3 Mini Quest Challenges, before facing the most daring challenge of all. This event will take place during the months of March and April. The mini challenges will be based on an epic quest; and please note that you must participate in at least two mini challenges to gain the right to enter the Main Quest Challenge.

Every quest will make you use all your developing skills, so be ready!

The mini-quests will be announced periodically throughout this event, so follow this post and stay tuned for the epic stories!

All challenges will be launched at 11AM PDT / 6PM UTC in this thread, so be sure to follow the thread for updates!

To participate in the Main Quest Challenge, all teams MUST have participated (sent a valid submission) for at least TWO of the Mini Challenges. Your whole team must be listed in the submission form and, once your team has been submitted, you will not be able to edit or change your team members.

Act 1 - Game Quest Challenge

Welcome to Act 1 of the Game Quest Challenge. In this chapter we entrust you with the mission of forging the lost legendary weapon for the hero / heroine of this adventure. It can be any type of weapon as long as it follows the medieval fantasy theme. Put your building skills to the test and give the hero the perfect weapon!

The story of this adventure is up to you, surprise us!

You have 26 hours to complete this challenge, starting now, April 3, 2021 at 11AM PST and ending tomorrow, April 4, 2021 at 1PM PST.

You can submit your projects for this first act through the submission page, the delivery format is .rbxmx or .rbxm attached to a .zip folder, make sure to fill in all the required sections: https://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/6256128/Game-Quest-Challenge-March-2021

Make sure to list all the names of your team members when submitting your project. The team cannot be changed throughout the challenge.

Mini Challenge #1

Your weapons have been reviewed - and the results are in! While there were many fantastic and creative weapons submitted, there can only be one weapon for the legendary hero!

Act 2 - Game Quest Challenge

We need your help once again developers, for Act 2 of the Game Quest Challenge! In this chapter we entrust you with the mission of creating the transportation method used by the hero/heroine of this adventure. It is time to use your imagination and skills, as always following the theme of the challenge.

You have 26 hours to complete this challenge, starting now, April 10, 2021 at 11:00 AM PST and ending tomorrow, April 11, 2021 at 1:00 PM PST.

You can submit your projects for this second act through this submission page, this time you are required to submit the project through a link to the Roblox place / game. Be sure to fill in all the required sections: https://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/6284002/Game-Quest-Challenge-Quest-2

Make sure to list all the names of your team members when submitting your project, as well as your team name. The team cannot be changed throughout the challenge.

Act 3 - Game Quest Challenge

We have reached the third chapter of this fantastic Game Quest Challenge. In this chapter we entrust you with the mission of creating the most evil final boss of all. Give it animations, attacks, and anything you can think of to make a spectacular final boss!

You have 26 hours to complete this challenge, starting now, April 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM PST and ending tomorrow, April 18, 2021 at 1:00 PM PST.

You can submit your projects for this second act through this submission page, this time you are required to submit the project through a link to the Roblox place / game. Be sure to fill in all the required sections! https://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/6298454/Game-Quest-Challenge-Quest-3

Do not update the place after submission date, as this will cause disqualification.

What is a fantastic quest without an even more fantastic boss battle? From evil dragons to cunning wizards, a boss battle is what makes a journey truly memorable in a game.

The time has come for our hero to face off against the most frightening, intense boss known in Game Quest history - and that is Lord Golem created by Team Tiamat! Team Tiamat is composed of developers @TheCraneStyle, @GetGlobals, and @steeljoe79.
