Light Influence doesn't work on Beams in future

Beams do not illuminate from light instances when future lighting technology is enabled. It works with every other lighting mode.

It should be noted that light influence works on particles in future.

Expected behavior

Beams should be effected by Light Influence when Future lighting technology is enabled.

When looking at different lighting modes such as voxel;

You can see that light influence works and the beam becomes illuminated with the red light.

This is such a limiting issue that’s been avoided for far too long. I tried pointing it out a couple of months ago to no avail. The quality of my game could go 10 fold if this were resolved!

Been awhile since this was reported, a beam’s LightInfluence property still doesn’t respect light instances via Future lighting technology.

This is preventing me from being able to achieve nice visual effects.

Maybe if the devs for studio paid attention to the bugs reported.

They won’t. It’s a given result of using Roblox’s API.

According to another bug report, the Studio team is working on re-writing the Explorer plugin, but this is a rendering bug. Please don’t be pointlessly defeatist.

Adding to that, if you look at bugs reported. Rendering issues often take the longest to be fixed/addressed.

I’m not saying it’s impossible. But there are issues that have persisted since early 2018. They are still huge issues in studio.

is there any follow up on whenever this is a limitation or a bug? its been a while since acknowledgement from staff and there’s been yet no response on this issue.
