We understand that the COVID-19 pandemic has been incredibly disruptive and challenging for people across our community. Many of you have told us that you develop on Roblox part-time, and work hard to financially support yourself through other means.
In an effort to help you through this time of difficulty, and to express our appreciation for your efforts to create awesome experiences for Roblox players, we are tripling the amount of payouts available through Premium Payouts - effective starting yesterday, March 31st. We originally planned to increase Premium Payouts later in the year as engagement on our platform increased, but decided to increase them now to show our support for you during this turbulent period.
Is this a linear scale (i.e. everyone gets 3x regardless of where you are on the curve) or is it skewed differently?
It would be nice if a higher Premium payout pool would mean that the curve skews with it rather than just being moved up, so that top games (who do not need to sustain off of the premium payouts) earn less than 3x more and smaller/niche/more engaging games earn more than 3x.
Can you also share more information on how Premium Payouts have affected game income in general?
Will premium payouts before this announcement that have not been added be tripled? I have 5 pending Robux right now from premium payouts, just asking if these will be tripled.
