[Client Beta] Input Action System is now available to publish in experiences!

  • We are thrilled to announce that the Input Action System (IAS) is now in Client Beta and can be published in your live experiences.

  • Whether your experience has a few simple actions or dozens of layered gameplay mechanics, we highly recommend migrating to IAS to take advantage of its power and flexibility. Migrating to IAS is a game changer for building out-of-the-box cross-platform experiences.

Good work on getting Meep city to change. Besides that, Roblox still as confusing and controversial as before. Everyone should watch that new schlep video.

I am not going to rate the announcements this week because I am still recovering from how harsh last week was. @Microwave_Toothpaste you can rate this week.

——

Topics I feel should be mentioned:

  1. Analyzing Roblox’s Stance on MeepCity

  2. Roblox Schlep situation AND their moderation is just getting worse [TALKING ABOUT THE MODERATION IN GENERAL, NOT JUST SCHLEP DRAMA]

——

See you next week, Robloxians… it just feels yucky to say that now.

I want to request that @Roblox adds a ResampleMode property to Materials and Textures, it would improve optimization of many experiences that use pixelated Textures as an artstyle.

Without pixelated textures that would be 128x128, developers have to use larger resolution textures like 1024x1024. That takes up more memory, meaning a waste of memory space in experiences.

or while using ResampleMode in its current state,

Developers must use only ImageLabels / ImageButtons for every pixelated texture they would like to use, as those are the only things with ResampleMode, the result of this means the game is incredibly laggy, especially if used on every face of every part in the game.

Adding ResampleMode to Materials and Textures would fix these issues and would result in better optimization of experiences, meaning developers don’t have to change their artstyle because of Roblox’s limitations, or entirely just move off-platform.
