Hi Everyone!
Wow, the month has zoomed by fast it’s starting to feel like summer!
We’re closing out this month with some exciting announcements around analytics, IP partnerships, and experience permissions. Read on below
Remember - we keep information at a high level within these recaps. For more information or to leave feedback, please comment on their official announcements linked below.
Announcements
Analytics: Hourly custom events and access to two years of historical data
- You can now see hourly metrics for economy, funnel, and custom events.
- You can also now access data within the past two years.
Introducing the License Manager and Catalog for Popular IPs and Creative Works
- We’re announcing the License Manager and Licenses catalog, a new way to partner with popular intellectual properties (IP) on Roblox across gaming, entertainment, retail, and more.
- We’ll be launching the License Manager and catalog in early Q3, and we can’t wait for you to try it out.
Grant publish access to specific Experiences, and more!
- We have just rolled out granular experience permissions for groups - giving you as a group owner controls to grant per-experience permissions for specific roles in your group.
- For example, you now have the freedom to create roles that only have edit permissions for a specific experience or can only access a specific experience’s analytics without granting the same access to your entire portfolio of experiences.
Changes to Open Cloud API usage policies
- Updating our Open Cloud API Policy to respect the principle of least privilege, which means that only the endpoints necessary to provide the app’s functionality are allowed.
- Introducing app categories and limiting available scopes of OAuth2.0 apps according to their respective category.
- This may result in apps eventually losing some scopes per their new app category.
Updates
[Client Beta] You can now publish Haptic Effects in your experience!
- Due to unexpected issues, this beta is temporarily paused on Android devices. You can still add haptics in Studio, but when published, they will not work on Android.
- We will provide further information as soon as possible, and appreciate your patience as we solve these issues.
An Update on Automated Action Against Modified Clients
- As of today, anyone with edit permissions for a place will not be actioned against if we detect them using a modified client in that place only. In other words, if you’re a creator and want to test your anti-cheat system against an exploit, you may do so.
[Beta] Introducing the Music Top 100 Chart on Roblox
- We’re rolling out the Music Top 100 sort on the Charts page to a percentage of users.
- You’ll be able to see what songs people listen to the most on Roblox, listen to a preview, and discover which experiences are playing those songs.
