We’re back again with the Weekly Recap. We appreciate everyone chiming in last week and providing feedback on how we can improve. While we are not implementing anything just yet, know that we’ve read all the comments and are looking into what’s possible! :grinning:

As a reminder - this post gathers all our announcements and updates from the Developer Forum. Our goal is to keep you informed of the latest news and developments at Roblox at a high level. For more information or to leave feedback, please do so in their official threads.

Please note: We eventually intend to lock these posts and direct conversations to their respective forum threads. However, for the next couple of recaps, comments will be left open to gather additional feedback on how we can improve the weekly recap.

Betas & Updates

[Client Beta] Aerodynamic forces now publishable on live experiences!

  • Creators can now publish experiences with Aerodynamics enabled, allowing all clients and Roblox servers to experience aerodynamics in live experiences

[Beta] Avatar Auto Setup

  • Updating the Auto-Setup Beta to include an improved machine learning model trained on a wider range of humanoid body types and poses.

  • The new model has several improvements such as improved quality, faster runtime and fewer failures.

[Studio Beta] Introducing Gamepad Controller Emulator

  • Developed a Gamepad Emulator to streamline your development process by removing the need for physical controllers.

  • You can simulate inputs from PlayStation, Xbox, and generic controllers directly in Studio.


Announcements & Updates

Español is now available for video uploads!

  • You can now upload video assets in Español / Spanish.

Updating Friends API & Deprecating IsOnline property from GetFriendsAsync

  • The block limit has been increased from 100 to 1000 users!

Localization Table Updates

  • Deprecating the older real-time ingestion system for Automatic Text Capture, as we’ve had two capture systems running simultaneously. We will now only be using the offline process in experiences, but you will still be able to capture strings in real time while playtesting in Studio.

  • All localization table assets are now private. This update automatically applies to all existing and future experiences and is separate from the asset privacy beta we announced for other asset types earlier this year.

In-Experience Voice Verification Experiment is Live

  • After hearing your feedback and making changes accordingly, we are pleased to announce that the experiment is now officially live and is expected to run for the next few weeks.

New Studio Start Page

  • This week we are rolling out a new Studio Start UI that has improved performance and efficiency.

Updates to the Roblox Terms of Use [November 2024]

  • The changes are to support new products that foster safety, engagement, and growth on the platform

What about the sunsetting of the messages feature? will there be a post about that? explaining why that choice has been made??

@Festivereinhard2 Hey yall! We are moving the sunset date for user-to-user Inbox Messaging to October 29. You can read more about it here.

To answer your question: The weekly recap gathers all our announcements and updates from the Developer Forum which is why this was omitted. This will be shared in the upcoming recap.
