Betas and Tests

[Studio Beta] Advanced Video API: Synchronize Video, Control 3D Audio, and More!

  • Last year, we released an advanced Audio API which allows you to define how audio is created and processed in-experience by connecting powerful instances such as Wires and AudioListeners. We now bring to you the video equivalent with some added cherries on top!

[Studio Beta] Introducing Avatar Makeup

  • We’re excited to announce the Makeup Studio Beta, a new feature that lets you create and apply makeup seamlessly to Dynamic Heads on Roblox!
  • This beta includes Universal Fit using our new WarpTextTransfer API, High Performance with AssetService:ComposeDecalAsync API to layer multiple makeup textures and Flexible Importing.

[Studio Beta] Proximity Prompt Indicators

  • Indicators are a new feature added to Proximity Prompts that let you know where nearby prompts are, so you can help guide players to interactable objects or reduce the clutter of many nearby items.

Allowlist for local client configuration via Fast Flags

  • To combat the misuse of the Fast Flag system, we are introducing a new mechanism called the Fast Flag Allowlist.
  • The Allowlist will limit the number of locally configurable Fast Flags to only those explicitly listed.

Introducing Regional Pricing for Developer Products

  • You can offer Regional Pricing for your developer products.By offering region-specific pricing, creators will give users pricing that reflects their local economy.

Avatar Auto-Setup Now Supports User-Guided Setups of Body and/or Clothing Only

  • We are announcing a new update to Avatar Auto-Setup that allows you to override the generated avatar components with your own.
  • You can now guide Auto-Setup by providing partially built avatars that are reused during the generation process to produce an avatar that matches exactly what you specified.

Introducing the Share Link API: Deep Link Players Directly Into the Action

  • We are excited to introduce the Share Link API (SocialService:PromptLinkSharing), which lets you programmatically create short, customizable links.

Creator Store Model Monetization Coming Soon: Start Pricing Your Models!

  • Later this month, you will be able to sell Models on the Creator Store for United States Dollars (USD). We have a few recommendations and reminders to prepare your model for sale!

An Improved Documentation Search to Help You Find Relevant Content

  • We previously shared some preliminary updates to our documentation search and now we’re back with a bigger overhaul!
  • You can now quickly jump back into our docs, search within one category, scan results faster with icons/text highlighting, “Ask Assistant” to start a conversation about your query and navigate search results with your keyboard!

[Test] Updates to Server List Page

  • We’re testing some changes to the server list page to make it more difficult for users to be targeted or disrupted by people they aren’t connected with (such as during a stream or for unwanted interaction). These updates are designed to balance easy connection with enhanced privacy.

Update on Guilded and Communities

  • We’re announcing that the Guilded product will sunset at the end of 2025. Our goal is to help creators build a community with users of all ages in a safe and civil way.

Connecting with Confidence on Roblox: Introducing Trusted Connections, Age Estimation, and Privacy Tools

  • Teens can find the new control in their Account Settings to set a daily limit for time spent on Roblox.

New DevForum ‘Lounge’ Category

  • We’ve noticed too many ‘Developer Discussion’ posts get moderated because they’re not explicitly about developing on Roblox. These posts are often more general comments about the Roblox platform.
  • To better facilitate broad discussions about the platform, we’re creating a new ‘Lounge’ category. This category will have two subcategories: Creating on Roblox and Roblox Discussion.

This week was a bit chaotic with all the games being unavailable to play a mixed good and bad announcements.

:sparkles: My rating: 65/100

My favorite update this week was " Proximity Prompt Indicators" as that is a good visual!

I believe Avatar Makeup is the worse update, if you want your character to look like your school bully just finished bullying you then Makeup will do well. It doesn’t look the best.

Topics I feel should be mentioned:

  1. Add more badge info
  2. Add moon ray lighting effect
  3. Add resamplemode for textures and materials
  4. Make clip descendants work on rotated elements

You’re not impatient. I don’t get how it would take 2 years to adjust corners for an UI visual is bewildering to me

The fact that Roblox just doesn’t care about making millions, heck hundreds of millions of games unplayable is just insane. This was not a good week at all, you have made hundreds of millions of games unplayable and wont be rated ever again, they could of passed away or their account could of got deleted, not a good feature at all

Oh and don’t forget that you cannot even play others starter place even when it has no updates at all, maybe just add a feature where people under 13 cannot play unrated games? At least just make the starter place have the basic maturity rating
